When I suggested Derek Adams should be the manager (current spell at Ross County won 27, drawn 18, lost 5 (of which 4 were cup games), according to transfermarkt) I was told that "there's plenty of managers in League 1 & 2 with a 50% win rate".
I'm not bothered about names, I want someone effective. If Wilder's got it, we can party. And if he hasn't, would this walk on the Wilder side have been any more of a gamble than anyone else who we can realistically afford or attract?

Interesting to hear he's not denying anything. Where did this rumour originate, I wonder?

Barton wasn't free, so I wouldn't rule out poaching an employed manager completely.

very interesting piece at the weekend from Reid about City saying before he joined the club he was told he would have 10 million to spend and he thought I can get them up and have a chance of keeping them there with that budget then as soon as he joined was told actually its only 1.5 million as we had some unexpected bills and then when he went to McGinnity with players even that was not available to him....the only player he was actually allowed to sign was Stern-John for £250,000

Oxford Chairman:

"Chris has completely changed the landscape of the club," he said.
"He has improved the quality of the football and every year that has gone by Chris has improved the team. The squad he has built is excellent.

Hoping this is true, but the odds on him being next manager on some sites are 1/8!!!

Just to check, you know those are odds that make the move heavily favoured rather than remote right?

Next manager markets are extremely volatile.

People would have seen/heard rumours over the weekend, and a few people putting 20 quid on would see the odds plummet.

More rumours come out today, more people put a few quid on and the odds end up at 1/8.

Don't pay too much attention to bookies odds on manager markets.

They are also ideal for a bit of insider dealing. Money talks.
Having said that CW odds 5 mins ago were about 1/2 not 1/8 so maybe he's not our man yet.

If he is to get the job I hope it was SISU who backed him down from 50s last week !!! He couldve paid for himself !!!!

Dont know enough about the guy to comment. Just hope he can galvanise the current group of players and play decent football...surely not too much to ask from a manager...is it ?!

Well as soon as a club chairman says there's been no approach that immediately would push the bloke's odds right out.

And the betting site I've just looked at now has Carsley at 11/1 but Shaw now not even on the list.

Ohh how the mighty have fallen!!
