Is Dave Whelan still alive? I'm sure or at least hope, he wouldn’t let them go to the wall. Shame as always thought they were a decent run club.

I always saw Wigan as a small club. Hope this new owner comes good.

The prospective new owner is apparently a 21 year old who couldn’t close off a deal to buy Morecambe last season

Madness they were run so prudently and well under Whelan for years and it’s all gone up in smoke

They could fold. Definitely a club whose stadium is far too big for them

He is but I read somewhere he isn’t really very well anymore so I don’t think he will be returning in any capacity

his grandson who he handed the reigns too now is CEO at Mansfield Town
