We have invested in both Rodrigues and Bassette and they have been with us all season getting up to speed . Both start making the bench and making cameos then we sign Paterson who struggled for a poor side in the MSL and was always going to take time to get up to speed . Once we signed Grimes he just seemed an odd signing .
I sincerely hope I'm proven wrong but I like to see youth given a chance over a potentially "deadwood" signing

That wasn't the point I was trying to make . It's rather why spend so much of the season getting him up to level required only to sign a journeyman ahead of him ?I don’t think Rodrigues deserves a chance just because he’s young.
He was always a gamble given where he was coming from, probably just isn’t even at Paterson’s level at the moment so no point him getting in the squad.
He still has barely played any meaningful minutes for the club.
