Ok!... did this group make an offer or were they just "waiting in the wings" so yo speak?... That is really interesting. Did not know Overson withdrew, or that Trust allegedly part of Consortium... thought I was fairly clued up on a few things too.
Surely this, if true, casts further doubt on the "trusts" interests of representing the fans.

I'm just fantasing here folks, but if I had the backing of some 50/60m, and lets face it not a huge amount by todays values I would buy up WASP along with the stadium and then buy out SISU for around the 25m or so they seek in order to exit.
Now you have the lot including a very valuable asset on a 250 year lease, a premier division rugby club and a medium size football club with enormous potential.
So, who do we know?

That’s is the ideal solution, but unfortunately who’s got the Money to shell out on Wasps and CCFC debt

In the long-term it got the club out of the rip off rental agreement. Imagine being in League 2 and still having to pay that level of rent.

Imagine being in league two full stop. They bought us when we were in the championship !

Yes, paying 1.3 million a year for no revenue whatsoever - we got relegated as they made the club stand on its own two feet, and couldn’t afford to invest in the playing squad.

Imagine the playing budget if we were still paying that whilst in league 2.

They’ve a lot to answer for - but breaking that noose was their only good moment

If you're an investor you are normally reluctant to sell when the value of your investment is down.
So my guess is they are predicting the value of CCFC will go up for some reason, and they will sell then.

Most businesses don’t run on hope, they have a plan / strategy. Sisu’s will likely be via court ?

I'd have wanted SISU to win the first JR as much because it would have validated some of their actions and showed they did care, at least a little, for the club.

They didn't, and they don't. I'm ashamed that they're associated with our club.

I'm not sure we are, but regardless if which 'side' you take, you're still deciding whether you'd rather eat dog shit or cat shit.

Imagine if we had been taken over by a hedge fund that didn't have Ken Diddlydoo Igne or that Canadian who suggested we have texts to sub players. Imagine if we had a hedge fund that didn't pride itself on "battering people in court" Imagine if we we had owners who communicated properly with the fans. We can go on about the Council Higgs Trust WASPs etc.. but had SISU behaved more appropriately I doubt we would be playing outside of Coventry for the second time.

If the council and others had behaved more appropriately we wouldn't have ever heard of SISU...

The other protagonists reacted to being threatened. SISU should have sorted out the rent deal and share of other revenue streams as they took over not several years later.

Totally agree £60m is peanuts for that total package.
30,000 shares at £2k each would do it. Great investment.
I'll take 10 please.

The Dales Evans thing for starters and I’d be highly concerned about the deal that they’d strike with Wasps and the glass ceiling imposed over us. The fact some still don’t understand that London Wasps see us as direct competition is mind boggling.

So are you saying right from the start the council wouldn't budge ?!....... If so why did they proceed then !?

Almost all clubs have a glass ceiling over them to a certain extent.

I was just trying to figure out what you seemed to know about it considering you completely missed my point.

Thanks for confirming and proving my point.

Why did they proceed? High risk aim for top flight in order to get high return - they never cared about the infrastructure of the club, that was an irrelevance. Yes, they should have sorted it at the start, no they weren't bothered in doing so, no there was no flexibility on the Ricoh deal from ACL.

The concern was always going to be what happened if that initial punt failed. Guess we now know... I spent ages being ridiculed for warning of the CCFC apocalypse if it went wrong, but my worst case was quite mild really!

So as usual a criticism of SISU brings derision and attempts at ridicule, you are so predictable.

No, the derision is when the shouty people who go to games a handful of times a season at most don't really know what they are on about. Then when it gets pointed out they try to play the "SISU Lover" nonsense. That's the predictable bit.

Lovely going over the same arguments again isn’t it.

For what it’s worth
  • Sisu are awful and we should want someone better.
  • Wanting someone who will do more than bending over to Wasps’ demands isn’t supporting sisu.
  • There is plenty of blame to share around, aiming your wrath at the council and Wasps too isn’t exonerating sisu.

Many games last season or the one before or the one before that?

Maybe you can try to achieve knowing the basics first, baby steps before the young whipper snappers have to start filling in the gaps for you?

It's OK because it will be 20 years by the time it builds up from being able to Sorry I am not giving it the "I have supported since 1956 but I know fuck all" line.

Go back to my post about them playing their part in SISU being here in the first place and try to figure it out and you might get there.

Laughable.

Entering into a partnership stacked in their favour is also collaborating and working with a franchise club, effectively sticking two fingers up to the city’s actual rugby club too.

Where SISU have been such poor owners is their PR especially in the early years but more recently their continued bull$hit about building new stadium - nobody believes them and all know its just part of their Ricoh grand plan. WASPS PR machine (with the CET CCC support) has allowed them a free pass especially as there is such a fractured sky blue fan base which SISU (amongst others) - has had a lot to do with.

Yup, one of their main downfalls has been PR and Communication from the start.

The fractured fan base is also part of the PR from other sides.

Well the Trust needs to keep getting onto the EFL to force the issue of getting reviews done and the £1 million bond needs to be enforced if they have not moved back to the City of Coventry inside the year.

They probably will but only on Wasps behalf.

Much the same as they were banging on about accounts not being able to be filed and the EFL not allowing a move, it was all PR for the other sides. It's what they do.

I would add that I feel not only should the Trust have continuous dialogue with the EFL, but that we fans also deserve to know how things are progressing quarterly in our quest to return to Coventry .

It’s our club. We have a right to know.

Why would any NDA be applicable?

It’s only a progress report either relating to our ‘new’ stadium or the most urgent issue of bringing our club back to Coventry.
