No, it doesn't, but when teams like Preston come out all guns blazing and keep you pegged back in your own half for over 25 mins, the crowd is going to be very quiet whatever.

Unless they are booing of course.

Back to the original point the only answer is because we are Coventry City and that is what we do struggle!

As I said on Saturday, I think that was a bit of a false dawn for Preston. They seem to getting carried away and purring to their hearts content at how good they were, but they will never have an easier gams than that all season long.

We were powder puff, didn't change the system to counteract their tactics, didn't pressure them, didn't have any shots on target and our first corner was in the 88th minute.

It was so, so easy for Preston. Cannot see any team playing as badly as we did. It really was that dreadful.

They were poor and we were far worse it was a dreadful game

Yes, scored 2, had 2 cleared off the line and hit the bar. Could have beaten us 3-4 nil.

Well,

Well, that's what I am saying. It was a very, very average Preston side and we were just so poor they walked the game easily.

It's been the same story for 20 years plus beaten by average teams and goals scored by forwards who have been on a drought then beat the better teams often enough to survive. In my eyes we shouldn't ever lose in this league as I can't get it into my head that we are in this league when we play teams like Gillingham I think it must be a cup game!

The system is the only problem

Yep, that and all the players that scored last year have left, and the keeper that kept us in plenty of games has left.

Do you mean the system of selling anyone that we get an offer for and replacing them with a loan/free signing, but only bringing in the players once everyone else has had their choice of the free players so their wage demand might be lower?

I'm always suspicious of the phrase 'unbeaten run'. The first question I'm asking is how many wins and how many draws and then how many goals did we win by? In our case, it was a less than stellar 'unbeaten run'.

Well yes, an unbeaten run of 7 games is very good, but 5 wins and 2 draws is obviously so much better than an unbeaten run than of say, 1 win and 6 draws.

Does need to be some degree of context.

I couldnt agree more - really do like Pressley's attitude and passion but no plan B, misses chances to sign rising league two and conference players that teams like Leicester, Sheff UTD have done recently. Baker shouldnt have gone with the experience he brought to the team and we needed to sign a top winger and bully of a central midfielder. Jackson and Nouble are decent but if you dont get decent balls given to them then they wont score consistently.

They have been replaced with players of the same ability (Barring Murphy), only significant difference is the change in tactics by Pressley

The squad is more than capable of challenging for/achieving promotion, yes we've lost last years players but they have been replaced with good signings.

I beg to differ, neither Clarke nor Wilson have been replaced by players of similar ability. Who is going to contribute as much as Moussa did from midfield in terms of goals? Baker splits opinion, but it's hard to see anyone other than perhaps O'Brien who has been brought in who might be any better.

I'd agree that the shape doesn't help, but I can't see there's much evidence the squad overall is a good as last season's, particularly pre-January.

Jackson is definitely better than Clarke and as good as Wilson (Or at least has been over his career). Swanson and O'Brien when used correctly can produce performances equal to Moussa and Baker (Maybe not Moussa's freakish amount of goals)

We have a better group of defenders
Equally good midfielders
A strong array of forwards all capable of scoring at this level.

We are weaker in goal as Murphy was probably the best keeper at this level and Allsop has looked very indecisive.

The shape, structure, formation or whatever you want to define it as is crippling this team.

Think its all about sell the best players to cut wage bill and bring in cheap not as good players on loan who don't totally care that's with a manager that's won 7 out of 34 is it.who is surprised we are struggling.
