http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/all-about/ricoh arena row

Assuming Telegraph have stated correctly (and this is a big if) the infamous stadium will be built outside of the city. As such, it does not fit in the criteria the league put down wrt a team originated in a city must play in that city.

Whether or not the league follows their own rules is a different matter, but te rules are pretty clear on this.

Cannot wait for the press release from TF "sisu decide to allow acl to host city at the ricoh!"

Whoever sisu pay to sort out their public relations should be sacked

If you don't believe his proof, you're a huge SISU fan. I read that in the other thread.

I'd be amazed if it was there. Access to that site is woeful, the cost would be too high. It has to be near a major road network

But Fisher said: “People have to understand we do not posture, we do not threaten, because that is not how you do business, you only do business in good faith. Always."

From 'Administration remains a threat say Coventry City bosses' by Les Reid (http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...istration-remains-threat-say-coventry-3013549):

Mr Fisher was quoted in a national newspaper as saying: “We are at a tipping point and insolvent liquidation cannot be reasonably avoided.
“They (ACL) need to re-enter negotiations pronto or we file. We’ll have no option because there would not be reasonable profitability of avoiding insolvency liquidation.”

Rules have been greatly tightened up since the MK Dons debacle. Unless something happened really recently, Forest have been where they are for donkeys years. It is historical Notts Forest are where they are, but the same rules would apply to forest as it would to any other team. The team has to play within the historical town which bears the name.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20120702/section-4-clubs_2293633_2125725#13

3.6 Each Club shall register its ground with the Executive and no Club shall remove to another ground without first obtaining the written consent of the Board, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld.

13.7 In considering whether to give any such consent, the Board shall have regard to all the circumstances of the case and shall not grant consent unless it is reasonably satisfied that such consent:

13.7.1 would be consistent with the objects of The League as set out in the Memorandum of Association;

13.7.2 would be appropriate having in mind the relationship (if any) between the locality with which by its name or otherwise the applicant Club is traditionally associated and that in which such Club proposes to establish its ground;

13.7.3 would not adversely affect such Club's Officials, players, supporters, shareholders, sponsors and others having an interest in its activities;

13.7.4 would not have an adverse effect on visiting Clubs;

13.7.5 would not adversely affect Clubs having their registered grounds in the immediate vicinity of the proposed location; and

13.7.6 would enhance the reputation of The League and promote the game of association football generally.

13.8 The Club must disclose, as soon as practicable, plans and details of any proposed future move to a new stadium. The location of the proposed new stadium must meet with the approval of the Board.

I cannot see how moving ground simply because you don't like the rent is going to enhance the reputaton of the league - does ANYONE?
