Been speaking to a mate of mine whom goes to every Cardiff City game. They can't believe how good Ben Turner is. So powerful and skillful, and an absolute steal at £900,000. When he was in central defence at the beginning of last season we were winning well and nearly at the top of the Championship. Indeed, we've not been any good since.

What can we learn from this - well what's the point? No doubt our wonderful director of football will tell us. It will costs us far more than £900,000 if we are relegated!!!

Skillful? Ben Turner is a lot of things, but skillful isn't one of them. He's a centre back of the 1980's guise.

Ben Turner didnt have to leave, the only reason he did was Thorn wanted a striker, that was Cody!!!

We should have kept him, agred but we have lots of options in defence and our other defenders are far more skillfull. What it does tell me though is every good team needs a big lump at the back.......

I was under the impression that Turner left because Sisu wanted some cash.

And it had to be Cardiff ,no matter others were interested ,home town club and all ,as Ranson had fingers in the pie @ Cardiff ,Allegedly,
I'd rather a turner than a cranie ,some physicality, another example of overcoming the Boo boys,Cranie was the one to sell and would have fetched that amount. And he did have to leave as he was frozen out ,Good luck to the lad ,we don't deserve him.

Cody is KD's signing thus he played saturday as i predicted as soon as the goon got involved in team affairs, that boy put himself out for months against leeds desperately trying to block a goal, this club meant far more to him than it ever will to the Cranies of this world.

Sisu wanted the cash !!!!!!
I don't do this I know the family bullsh it !!!!
Yes I believe Thorn did want a striker and probably still does !!!
Everyone accepted that a Centre half would go so that we could get a striker in hindsight they probably sold the wrong one.
There is no way on Gods earth that we paid 900k for Cody we could have got a proven striker for that. AT got a bargain basement punt and that is all he was allowed !!!!!!!!!!!

I'll say it again,Turner was forced to Cardiff as Ranson had been lending them money, against league rules, IE;Good player at coventry strugglin side Minimal value, good player at promtion chasing side double or treble the value ,asset value to Cardiff trebleRansom gets his loanand profit back . ,Kd brought Cody to city ,Why do you think thorn would'nt play him if he'd bought him, there was probably no cash involved with Sisu pocketing the lot When Juke goes to norwich we'll know.

Don't want to be pedantic but he got the injury on the halfway line!

It probably was the right decision to sell him, we just got a pretty poor fee.

So is this inside information then wingy because you seem to be writing it all as fact?

IMHO the facts on ranson are published ,the fact birmingham were interested should have created a bidding war ,he went under value thats good enough for my little mind, and frozen out of playing.

He did, he agravated it by continuing to play. That is why he pulled up half way up the pitch!

They are money grabbing bastards......logic doesn't come into it.

wasnt this about the time mcCleish left? don't know so can not say as fact/sure.
Ranson if he went to cardiff because of mr hands in to many pots then it would not have mattered if birmingham were interested or not.
As for being frozen out why he was frozen out is only guess work on anyones opinion but there mnay have been other reasons that like many things cov will be a mystery and we will know who killed Kennedy and Monroe first, as they have less conspiracy than cov have had for years surronding what goes on, not just under sisu.

It was.

Huge mistake to sell him, I was screaming blue murder at the time but most people on here said it was a wise decision and worth it to get Cody in. He was blatantly sold by the owners and quite p'd off about the manner in which it happened. The whole idea that we spent the Turner money on reinforcing is also bogus. I was amazed that most fans simply accepted that 80% of the Turner money vanished never to be seen again, along with the Aron and Sturridge money.

Dunno about the conspiracies, but with Turner it was certainly similar to the way that Fox was left out of the side the preseason he was sold. I believe it happened with Westwood when we were involved in negotiations with other clubs in other seasons.

Seriously though, the rumours all over the place for ages were "Turner is fully fit, he's not being allowed to play as he is being sold and they can't risk an injury." Everyone heard that one. And it was 100% true. We are owned by complete and utter spanners, as if they'd kept him until Xmas we'd have been about 5 places higher in the league and they coulda sold him for 3 times what they actually got. The same could have been said of King in terms of sticking to the 3 year offer

Simples - biggest wage of the defenders we have and the one with the biggest value since he had a 3 year contract and was by far the best and most skilful of our defenders. Certainly lies better than the crock that is McPake!

The more you read these posts about Turner, the more depressing it gets. Nothing is straight with this club. Wheeling and dealing, and getting it wrong every time. We have to live with what we've got, but I'm not sure who is best at centre half, especially when you can't be confident about the flappy goal keeper we keep on using!
