Why is the "Jimmy Hill Way" near the Ricoh ? (1 Viewer)

Jimmy's statue is at the Ricoh for obvious reasons. It was put there before we lost the stadium. I can understand that perhaps the idea is to link a road carrying Jimmy's name in the direction of Jimmy's statue. Perhaps that's it .
We no longer own the Ricoh. If we move out of the city or even build a new stadium then having the JHW near the Ricoh will be out of place, surely.
Does anyone know when the idea of the replacement name for the A444 was first put forward? I would have preferred renaming part (or all ) of the Sky Blue Way , or better still the Walsgrave Road at Gosford Green and up to Clay Lane. Perhaps that was too difficult.

The A444 does go just as close to the site of Highfield Rd as Sky Blue Way, it runs parallel to Swan Lane.

That said, I don't know if that section of the A444 is Jimmy Hill Way or whether it's just the section from Rowleys Green island to the Holbroooks one?

If it's all of the A444 then it's befitting of a man who made this club . If it's just a bit between two roundabouts, its not.

It's the whole stretch to the Binley Road roundabout. Bridges along the route have been painted sky blue in tribute.

It's the whole of a444 from Ricoh to Binley Road. Done for ease as no houses or businesses had Phoenix Way in their address

Brian Clough Way is nowhere near either the City Ground or whatever Derbys ground is called.

My sister lives on Graham Hill Road and that's not right next to Silverstone.

Not sure that's how it works.

We had a chance to buy it back as well but we didn't.

I didn't say we had. I didn't think anyone would be picky about it.

Some day, one day ccfc and the Ricoh will be together again, permanently, and there will be nothing Wasps or anyone else will be able do to stop it.
