I believe we can still make the Play-Offs this season and one of the main reasons behind this is emphasised by today's results:

Rotherham have practically beaten Sheff Utd
Bradford have beaten Brentford
Crewe are drawing with Peterborough

Couple that with Leyton Orient are currently top and anyone can beat anyone in the division on the day, there are no guarantees in this League and if we can keep picking up points then we have reasons to believe, especially with the way our squad is currently playing!

Why should we? Lets have a target to aim for! It's not like we weren't ever going to come out of -10 situation..

It can be done as the past has shown..

Believe!

Can't see it myself. 6th place will be about 74/75 points like it has been the last few seasons, so we need 84/85 points to be in with a shout, which based on last season is league winning form.

Well 3 points tomorrow (in other circumstances) would put us in the playoffs...

Leeds United as well during the 07/08 season, had a 15 point deduction and finished 5th and built up 76 points.. It can be done.

We are scoring goals for fun ATM if we can tighten up at the back and continue that form we can do something

They won their first 7 games in a row and dropped just 4 point in their 13 games and lost just 2 games by xmas. We score goals but will always leak goals, even with a new centre back.

That's what people said last season but 74 points was still the benchmark.

I think peoples current mood is very over optimistic and people are going to be coming down to earth with a bump once the small squad starts to tire and the pitch deteriorates, I hope I'm wrong but in the last 25 years I don't think we've ever done better over a season than I expected, I've always been too optimistic.

Teams that have come up started okay, expect the teams that came down to improve and the bigger teams in this league that haven't been firing so far to come good, we can do this I know we can!

Remember we're coventry we don't do top six ever.we can't do it normally we def won't do it with a -10 pts start . We've won two games and we can't defend.not exactly play off material.

Sorry Rob, I just don't believe. I don't think we're good enough defensively and that includes through the midfield.

Our Coventry isn't usually the highest scorers in the league either but things change!

Nothing offensively or when in possession, but it's not the greatest defensively.

Look at the two teams we've beaten, both poor sides.waiting for the wheels to fall off as usual....would be good to be proved wrong though

I agree we can get promoted - no doubt about it. But we need to continue the current form we have consistently and tighten up at the back a little. The midfield is strong and so too the attack if we keep our assets. I see nothing to really worry us this year at the moment.
It would be a sad year from the point of view we did do well only for handfuls to be watching it happen at Northampton though wouldn't it?

Conor Thomas has been awesome in possession and in a tackle this season..

Agreed but Fleck, moussa and baker are all suspect defensively.

That doesn't surprise me......I do remember you predicting we'd be sitting comfortably in the top 6 by Xmas last season.

Baker has only played 2 and a bit games this season it's hard to judge him at the moment. Fleck could be a little stronger in a challenge, but Fleck and Thomas compliment each other and Flecks passing range has been really good. Moussa could be stronger but has done really well so far and you can't knock him for the goals and assists he is providing.

I'm judging baker on last season. Like I said in possession and offensively our midfield is one of the best in the league, but they will struggle defensively and that will leave the back 4 exposed at times.

I think if we sign Aaron Martin as is rumoured we will then this might help with our defensive problems, some of the goals that we have conceded have been about misjudgement on a defenders side and as much as I like Jordan Clarke, Jordan isn't a CB and he has been at fault for a few goals, getting another CB who specialises in the position should improve the whole back line..

Also remember that Joe Murphy has been playing with an injury up until recently and that could be a cause for some of our goals conceded.

He did have a Foot Injury Mustafa, that was after the Leyton Orient Cup fixture so it's a while ago however he did struggle with it for a few games afterwards.

I think our position in the league is going to be determined by a couple of things:

1) Injuries - if we have a bad run of injuries, our form is likely to dip, due to squad size
2) Which players leave / arrive in January

I think Wolves, Posh and L Orient will all be thereabouts, but think a top 6 is possible with a reasonable run of luck re: injuries.

Fingers crossed - and anyone else surprised about how sh*te Sheff Utd have started this season - big crowds, and an Arab prince backing them!

It would be great, but to be honest I will e very pleased to just stay in this League.
However, would accept relegation if it got rid of SISU.
