Well the club can allow anyone they like to broadcast matches, and Linnell does the post match meet & greets in the corporate section - Guess who pays for that?

Quite frankly he is so biased he may well be in breach of the BBC's code of conduct. Certainly he seems to be gaining a lot of resentment amongst fans over his disgraceful stance.

It's only 'disgraceful' because you disagree with it. No doubt if he was rabidly anit-SISU you wouldn't be complaining about him being in breach of the BBC code of conduct, you'd probably declare him to be fair and balanced.

Some people just can't stand the thought that there are people out there who disagree with them. That's life, get over it and stop crying.

Fletcher - need to find new owners who will put in £30m, £40m or £50 m per year.

Wow, those losses are really building up!

Also said that rent was set while the club was in the Premiership. Err, no, it wasn't.

I think we all agree that the football club needs to own the ground, but he's being a little simplistic in his analysis.

Yes and who was in charge of ACL when the rent was set OH a certain mister Fletcher Blokes full of it and yes he did sound drunk champers with Soppala no doubt
As for CWR tried to get on for the first time on Friday to moan about SISU yep never phoned me back :jerkit:

My concern was the lack of balance -this is the BBC after all.

SL was highly concerned over ACL's reasoning for their court case but seemed completely unconcerned with the many ( and some would say more significant) questions that SISU had not answered.

So happy for people to disagree, no tears, but if you're in the BBC, try to show an even handed approach.

They'll be plenty who'll say he is being balanced - it depends on your viewpoint.

Put is this way, if he was being blatantly anti-SISU, how many of you would be starting threads on here about his lack of balance and complaining that he wasn't giving SISU a fair hearing? None of you would do that. There are so many people on here that have a position so entrenched on SISU that they jump up and down hysterically if they perceive that someone in the media is not 'onside'.

Quite frankly, some of the comments in this thread have been embarrassing.

PF has forgotten more than we know about the ricoh in the last 8 years or so, if anybody listens again they will find he is accurate in a lot of things regarding the ownership of the whole stadium.
I dislike sisu and wish they had never arrived here , BUT as has been mentioned before the current owners of the stadium were meant to be CUSTODIANS not the outright owners. Forget the Higgs share ,they will sell back to anybody, its the council that is the problem because now their nose is in the trough they will never sell to anybody.
Regarding the 40-50 mill PF alluded to ,he was talking over x amount of years not per season. I personally appreciated his honesty when he was here and as he said one of the reasons he left was because he felt too many lies would be told as to how we were being shafted.
By the way ,he wasn't drunk everyone from Burnley sounds like that.

No, they won't, it was confirmed last night after the experience with SISU in negotiations thus far that it would be very difficult to do a deal with SISU. Although it was then added that the council would just veto it even if they did.

If he was being blatantly anti-SISU then no doubt those who support SISU would be the ones complaining.

As someone once said - that's life, stop crying about it etc etc

The Football League has a contract with the BBC.

Does every BBC employee actually have to be impartial on all matters or is that just something that people have come to believe? It'd be almost impossible to maintain.

Absolutely not but things happen in my work I dislike and need to remain professional.

BBC and ITV when reporting have to give a totally impartial commentary, so as to be fair with both sides. I haven't got a problem with questions being asked, but when they are blatantly beyond the pale, and one sided people like Linnel show themselves for what they really are. When he pushed PWKH for an answer about who was "Interested" in CCFC. he was wayyyyyy out of order.

One more thing...Linnel said he would welcome a representative from SISU to come on the show.....Knowing all along that they wouldn't break a habit of a lifetime, and actually show themselves and tell the truth!

Linnel was well out of order, sometimes catch him on BBC Northampton in morning and he comes over as a useless old crony on the Radio, if in area I normally switch over to Radio 2.

Answering one of my own posts......Would Linnel ask Septic Seppala who actually owns CCFC? and expect to get an answer!

I think it is a measure of just how desperate the SISU OUT fanatics have become that they are now trying the suggest there is some sort of BBC conspiracy where clearly there isn't one; to the extent that they are citing the fact their text was not read out of the radio as evidence. What next, SL is a trans-dimensional lizard?

The demonisation of SISU and those that might to question their opponents has reached comedy proportions, I never tire of seeing how those that question the actions and motives of ACL are labelled 'SISU apologists'. I mean really, it is playground stuff. My honest belief is that there is widespread dislike of SISU and an almost universal yearning to see the back of them, but nothing that has been said or done by the most extreme SISU haters has made that outcome more likely than it was before all this started.

It's time all this nonsense ended and everybody got back around the table. It is the only way this will be resolved.

That's odd, I was reading a thread critiquing one bloke for doing a poor job. Where was this stuff about a BBC conspiracy, it sounds fascinating?

Oh, and is he really a lizard? Was David Icke right after all?

The most hilarious thing Linnell said was that he would be willing to chair a broadcasted discussion between ACL and the club on CWR.

You'd have to say do SISU really deserve a fair crack of the whip? It would be a lot easier to sympathise with them had they made honest attempts at renegotiating the current agreement from the off, run the club efficiently, and been transparent in their intentions. By run the club efficiently, I mean not get it relegated, slash the crowds to 10,000 a week, and only then decide to ask for cheaper rent and more revenue.

You must have missed all that stuff about the BBC fearing that they might lose broadcast rights if they are too critical of SISU, or the claims that they were deliberately refusing to read out texts that were critical of SISU. It's all there, you just need to pay a little more attention.

Oh, and this 'critique', are you including in that the stuff about him being a tool, a twat and a tosser? Nothing like a bit of intelligent and well-informed discourse on a Sunday afternoon eh.

Probably not, but you'd want him to, using your words, "push", wouldn't you? And would that be out of order?

Not sure why the mob hatred of Linnell has started. Or rather, I do know. Silly.

There is, have a read through.

I think he does alright considering some of the numbskulls that ring in.

There are also many valid points which shouldn't be dismissed because of other posts. Too easy and too cheap.

Generally I'd agree that he does OK, that's why I was surprised by his tone yesterday.
