EFL have given Cov City more time to discuss a deal with Wasps - Why does it take so long? They have been talking for years - There must be one sticking point that they cannot agree on, so it seems it doesn’t matter how much longer they are given to talk the sticking point is getting in the way and cannot be agreed - Also noted we never ever get updates off wasps on encouraging signs very one sided- - Why cannot wasps throw a few encouraging comments in, we only hear off CCFC – From thinking that we were going back to the Ricoh 99% I am now down to 50/50 or less

It's called negotiating and trying to weaken the others hand to extract the best deal for yourself.

I really hope you are in charge of the Ricoh negotiations, and involved with the Brexit transition period. We will all be happy as CCFC fans and humans if you were.

I think it won’t happen. All the issues that prevented a deal last year are still there. I think we’ll be in Brum.

In my opinion, a return to the Ricoh only makes sense once capacity crowds are allowed back in. As has been mentioned countless times, the playing surface at St Andrews is so much better, and a 20-30% cap on capacity during these COVID times will see as many fans attend games at St Andrews than went last year. I’d rather see Wasps sweat that little bit more (hopefully drown in their own sweat too!)

Can understand your comments but there is a limit to any negotiations and brinkmanship - Incidentally I was an experienced negotiator in my working life having sold 2 major companies 10 years apart both with large work forces - and retired very young – so feel I have experience to comment

The problem with this is compromise is needed from both parties, but the one sticking point is non negotiable on our side surely.

and while that probably gives you a better insight than most I would still imagine there are aspects of these negotiations that are fairly unique. Not least the EU complaint and the indemnity demand.

last published circulation figures show they sell 10,606 copies a day. That, added to their stupidly unusable website, all points to them being not that important when it comes to news and media for residents of Coventry and beyond.

So if Wasps throw an encouraging comment in and then nothing happens it's "Wasps lying again and scuppering a deal". Maybe they don't say much because the actual positions of the two parties hasn't actually changed much (for right or wrong).

You could argue that CCFC putting out statements is giving out false hope and looking to create a sentiment towards Wasps like you've just shown. Maybe the club statement should be criticised because nothing is really happening? There could be a single comment in a meeting of "we'd like you to come back" and that gets blown into "encouraging progress in negotiations and hopefully a deal will be agreed soon". It's nothing of the sort. Like having a girl smile at you and you saying "she definitely wants to shag me".

With the lack of crowds being allowed in and chances are only limited capacity if that changes the need to be back at the Ricoh isn't a major one at this point from an economic perspective. Rather have the better pitch at St Andrews.

Thinks he’s been told that the pitch condition has been a big factor in the ongoing negotiations. Don’t have to be brain of Britain to figure out that’d be a massive prerequisite anyway.

Because the rent charge is only one part of any deal. It is not simple and the respective bargaining positions are in flux.

Agree the only way I can't see it making sense to renew in Birmingham is if Wasps are truly teetering on the edge of a significant financial implosion.

Surely the playing surface and costs are of the biggest consequence? Money received from attendances is going to be massively hit next year (if crowds are even let in at all) so moving because it's in Coventry is of little overall importance if hardly anyone can go anyway..

F&B is always the sticking point, city think they should already get a good % of match day revenue from f&b, as they would already be paying wasps rent. wasps think it's there stadium they should have It all and the rent. There is possibly a deal to share a percentage, but not enough for city. The longer wasps remain in financial trouble the more likely it is for city to get a bigger percentage. If we go back to stans next season , by the season after if wasps haven't gone out of business they will be begging city to come back, they just haven't lost enough money just yet.wankers.

He's trying to sound like he is in the know. The Ricoh love in some people have is embarrassing.
