...go after MR in the first place? Like TM he likes to play football unlike RS who came in, tried to change the ethos and wasted a transfer window to boot trying to get players who buy into that ethos. MR would have been a natural hand over. I think RS appointment sealed our fate this season. MR getting the side to play a decent brand (by our seasons standards) seems just the tonic needed that would have given us a real chance of staying up. It's just all happened to late. He should have been appointed instead of RS and it just baffles me why he wasn't considering he ended up here anyway.
Venus was nothing the rumour I heard bout slade was less than £1k a week no idea if trueThe cheap option would have to have not picked anyone. How much was Slade on then?
We should have fucked Mowbray off last February and installed robins then - as I suggested - we'd be in the championship now
It's nothing to do with playing football - it's basic organisation of the defence - which he has always been good at.
He also is an instant impact manager - he would have got enough wins last season to get promotion.
Although Slade was a disaster it's also interesting to note how many of Slades recruits are first choice.

The squad wasn't right for long ball any man and his dog could see that.
The moment Slade never signed two bruising strikers.
He needed to stop by passing the midfield.
The team definitely look more organised under Robins no question

Did you go today? We won despite a very poor midfield performance?
No had to listen on the radio unfortunately. Due to personal stuff.
From the radicsounds like we had a nice conbo of mixing it up between long ball and using the midfield.
When we did use the midfield they didn't sound poor to be fair.
Got to agree with Grendel how some people made him M O M I will never knowMatter of opinion. I didn't think Bigi was poor. A bit hit and miss maybe with some of his passing going astray but on the whole more positives about his display than negatives.
Bigi was poor as was Reilly but Reilly has an engine so will always give you something.
Robins is a cracking manager and this level and I'd feel very confident of promotion next season if he sticks around.

we all thought Russell Slade would do okay
Agree with every word.We should have fucked Mowbray off last February and installed robins then - as I suggested - we'd be in the championship now

You all know my feelings regards the incompetent Tim Fisher but in fairness to him let's be honest we all thought Russell Slade would do okay and get is enough points to survive, Fishers mistake was not elbowing Slade a month before he did, just watching the way he set the team up should have been enough to know he needed sacking.
Maybe we tried but he didn't fancy it back then? Who knows.
You are obsessing about slade and long ball, how many games did we actually play it?

Not sinister just a huge mistakeNo, something more sinister. Must be.
The 3 games we didn't we looked alright
Plus the checkatrade where the players couldn't even try those tactics we looked ok.
So you went to every game - really?
