I lived 1 minute walk away from Highfield Road when I was a kid and when my dad came back to England he bought me a season ticket.

That was it, hooked.

my best friend was a cov fan and him and his dad used to go to every game, i was well jealous! my parents still thought football was like bad old days of hooliganism so i just used to get my mate to buy programmes and stuff,then when i was 11 my friends dad offered to start taking me to games.

no matter how shit cov are im glad i ddint glory support a team like man utd or chelsea etc, i hate seeing fans in cov wearing those kits, its a fake love,even if it is love.

Dad born in Cov, he's been going since '52. He took me on my 7th birthday in October 1972. Been going ever since.

Came to Coventry in 1978 as an apprentice, fancied a girl who had a season ticket with all her family. If I wanted to see her on a Saturday then I had one option!!
Afraid it didn't last, but the season ticket did.

Beginning to wonder why myself at the moment! But no I was born in Cov and can't remember ever not supporting them. Lived 2 mins from Highfield Road for ten years too. Even though we live in Devon nowadays., my Mum's still there and we still say we're going 'home' to see her.

Coventry City was etched in to my Family, I saw them for the first time in 95' and was hooked on every single aspect of Coventry City and what it represented for me, I still have that same sensation now as I did in my first game..

For me it was to get a date with my now wife, asked if she wanted to go out on Saturday, she said she goes to watch Coventry with her Dad but I could come with her if I wanted. So missed my Rugby one weekend and went to the game with her, her sister and her Dad.
Been married 30 years now and we still go to games together, but only away this season.

Old man came over from Dublin when he was 17 in 1948 and started going to see Cov. Watched them through til 88 when he died. Born and lived in Radford til I was 8 and left for some backwater called Northamptonshire. Still Cov through and through as are my Northampton born kids and nephew (and they were allowed a choice not to!). Not being able to take them as my dad did for me and brother and sister is what pains me the most.

being from rugby the only team i had ever supported was vs rugby, until i started working in cov at about 1991 and started going with work mates and was hooked the 1st time i went. it just felt right.

I've asked myself that same question so many times this close season.

I moved to Coventry in the late 80s when my dad took a job there. His side of the family were all Rangers fans but I didn't feel any strong affinity to them as I'd never seen them play.

He started taking me to games in the early 90s and I really enjoyed those days out with just my Dad.

For a while his mate was head steward at Highfield Rd and some time in 95 (I think) he took me to meet all of the players after a game. I was awestruck!

From there on in I was hooked.

Because of my dad he is a mad Cov fan and he took me training with them once and I got signed up as a Cov school boy but was later released been going ever since
