Why are we all so underwhelmed? (1 Viewer)

I feel the same way but why? I looked at the team that played Pompey first game last season and the only players missing are:

Westwood - we now have murphy
Doyle - we have deegan back now
Carsley - we have sammy to replace him

Clingan started on the bench so we could replace him with bell or Thomas.

Cameron started that game and we can replace him with mcpake.

I can't help but think we would all be so more upbeat if king had stayed. So in essence, we need a striker, a prem loan would do.

Gunnar didn't even make the bench last year!

I feel a bit better now!

Because like most football fans, too many people on this forum expect us to make somewhere between 4 - 8 signings in the summer and spend money on big names blah blah blah.

If we have 5 injuries at one point next season we don't have the squad to handle it.. the players we have are good enough but not sturdy enough to last all season, we need more depth.

For me it's not the on field stuff it's the off field issues that are getting to me and all the uncertainty.

What really f***s me off sometimes is a lot of people believe wholeheartingly that on this, or any other skyblue forum, that you are being disloyal to criticise or be a little negative about the team or club.
I have always tried to look on the positive rather than the negative when i post, but so many people on here slam you for any slight denoucement of the team or club.
Please, please, let people express the way they feel, without being condemmed for being anti skyblue, otherwise they who slam, will kill any debate dead and drive posters away.

At the end of the day - we have, and have not had money in supply to afford a number of key signings for a number of years. It's always been the case.

There are facts which we have to bare in mind, we are losing a lot of money, we don't own the stadium and we can hardly attract the best players with challenging for the prem!

As bad as those points are - we are Coventry supporters, and that is what we support. That's the prominent fact, it's been the case for a long time.

We stick by it, and we support the team check for news every day and support the club.

We don't need to get disheartened and fear the worst for the squad, but be optimistic and put everything we have behind them...

It's reality, and what a City fan is about.

Cracking post. Would marlon have really given us a chance of promotion or merely kept us up?
