How many clubs who are successful in the Premiership either don't own their stadium or don't have total access to matchday revenues?

Southampton would still be floundering if they'd had Coventry council to deal with.

That is not my argument though Grendel. My argument is that a new stadium is totally the wrong way to go.

We need to put pressure on ALL sides in this saga, Sisu, ACL and CCC, to reach some resolution.

A new stadium is NOT the way forwards. All we will have is a smaller stadium, with a much reduced capacity, of lesser quality, with us not owning it and still paying rent and it not being in Coventry.

It's a madness.

Of course it was. But we can't honestly sit here and suggest that we would be a succesful club now if it wasnt for the rent and access to F&B can we? I am all for saying that serious mistakes were made pre-sisu however let's not kid ourselves.

As I've said a fair few times,If the place Is going for peanuts ,the fans should buy It ,there are Govt Initiatives and funds for this exact purpose . How on earth could the FA...FL,and yes even SISU refuse us playing on our own doorstep?

Bit irrelevant if the deal the club gets is worse than a club in a run down stadium holding 18,000 fans

That was not my point was it. I dont know the answer to that question, as I am not particularly bothered about other clubs finances. I will repeat my question for you. Can we honestly sit here and suggest that we would be a succesful club now if it wasnt for the rent and no access to F&B?

Grendel. I agree the rent is too high at 1.2m , so 6m over Sisu's tenure. But how much in intercompany interest and "management fees" have they taken out of the apparent cash cow that is CCFC to basically leave us right in the shit.

Saying the club can't survive without F&B is more SISU spin, if your angle is to satisfy FPP, then actually buying into the profits via Higgs and ACL would sort that out, but they're just not prepared to get it the proper way. How much income is the pop and crisps at sixfields pulling in anyway, assuming they're getting a cut? Is it more than the extra bums on seats there would be at the Ricoh?

A while back they were saying we can't survive because the rent was crippling them, so they stopped paying it (even though they've now they've turned down a rent free deal). So, over that hurdle they need another excuse...now owning the freehold will miraculously save the club.

You never answered my post regards boring you with irrelevant facts.
Do you now admit the initial stadium is only 12,000 capacity as I stated?

Are you happy with starting with that size in 2017?

The facts are very relevant - you can't answer them.

The stadium will if ever built be more than 12,000. This thread has nothing to do with our stadium though does it. You have forever been banging on about the many things the Ricoh can be without the club. It's only fair and in the interests of the taxpayer that the potential is developed.

I'm not selfish i am community spirited.

Grendel - your entire attitude seems to be borne out of a grudge against the council. Maybe a councillor shagged your wife - I don't know.

The fact is Coventry council owe CCFC nothing. CCFC is a privately owned business that has to provide a venue to perform their business. That isn't the council's responsibility.

The owners - whoever the f**k they are - have decided to provide that venue in Northampton rather than where their core customers are. But the council don't have to provide them with a venue to play in. As it happens they have a venue that is ideal that they can offer to rent. It is up to them to choose a rent for THEIR needs.

The club owners have decided they don't want to pay that. That is their prerogative. and theirs alone. Look where that has got them.

There is no evidence that any money has been taken 'out' in reality. It's just sat as debt owing rather than anything paid.

Give back the £7.2m sisu paid ACL in rent and we would still be £55m in DEBT. Sorry correction, take £1.2m off as they did not pay the last years rent, so the debt would have been higher. The rent was not the reason the club got into trouble, it was the way it was run before sisu and they just carried on running it the same way. Then they decided to blame ACL for all their troubles and the fools belived and followed them. Sisu only got in a experienced football accountant a year ago, they never knew how to run a football club and still do not

He didn't when Grenduffy's floppy-haired idol funded him within the bottom few in the league and sold the family silver. Still, I won't start that again now. I'd rather gouge my own eyes out with a rusty teaspoon than indulge Grendel's ego with further words to this worthless tat of a wind-up thread

There's not 60 acres of council land available and if there was they would sell it off at a premium and take the profit themselves.
Any private land available would not be sold at greenbelt prices so Sisue could gain profit by having usage changed to housing or business. The land owner would do it themselves.

Therefore this thread is irrelevant.

So you have access to all land sale information -- you work for the council then?

Fasciniating - so you've actually researched the available council land through the Land Registry - how have you managed to do that?
