I'm bored at work today

Who you keeping who you flogging/ releasing/keeping?

Keepers

Simon Moore - Decent championship keeper
Ben Wilson - Decent understudy for a few games if needed

Defence

Michael Rose - If an offer comes in to help us improve, get rid
Kyle McFadzean - Was keen on a year extension. Since Christmas his legs have completely gone. Id release, again if better can come in
Dominic Hyam - Keep, one of the first names on the team sheet
Jake Bidwell - Looks a lot better at LCB , isn't going anywhere but would rather play him there than LWB
Josh Pask - Release
Declan Drysdale - Get rid, wont ever make it
Todd Kane - Solid enough championship player
Fankaty Dabo- As above
Julien Dacosta - Bin him off, utter poo

Midfield

Liam Kelly - Think we have outgrown him. Love Kels but he's not championship material for anything other than the smaller teams in the league
Jodi Jones - Id personally have gave him more playing time to see how he looks, but think the writings on the wall and will be released
Jamie Allen - Solid enough squad player
Callum O'Hare - We all adore him, but if anything above £8 Million came in id let him leave
Ben Sheaf - Watch him turn into one of the best midfielders in this league next year
Gustavo Hamer - A Class act, technically the best in the side. Would I let him go for the reported 10-12 Million. Too right. Anything less, build a side around him
Jordan Shipley - Clearly not good enough for this league, release
Ryan Howley - Seems to be the best prospect coming through since Bayliss in midfield, loan him out to a L2 side

Attack

Viktor Gyokores - Best striker we've owned in forever, honestly feel he can get 20+ next year. He's the one we need to hold on to most for me, but again, anything above 10 Million you've got to look at taking it
Matty Godden - Yes he's always injured but his goal stats are fantastic. Best finisher at the club, he wont go anywhere but we need to keep him fit and he will again get 12+ goals next year
Tyler Walker - Torn, looks lazy, miserable etc. Yet does seem to know where the goal is and could have bene treated a bit better by MR. Tough one, how many times have strikers been nowhere then come the next season they're a different player.
Martyn Waghorn - Actually developed a dislike for the bloke for the first time since we had Neil wood in 04/05. Fat, slow, stroppy, and clearly doesn't want to be here, if he wants to go back to Derby I'm sure there's a few here that will drive him

Anyone else fancy having a go?

The problem this season it’s going to be down to other factors.

players will be sold and others that are less likely to be desirable will have to be let go and we pay a portion of wages.

I think you’ll get your wish on waghorn
I can’t see Kelly getting much interest
Hamer and possibly O Hare will probably move on
Walker I think we will stick with. One season shouldn’t define a player
Bidwell will be LWB
I’d keep rose over Hyam

Pretty much agree with everything in the OP.

I actually thought Kelly looked quite good when he came on at the weekend to be fair. But he's too injury prone and doesn't use the ball well enough at this level.

Let go - Pask, Dacosta, Jones, Shipley, Waghorn, Drysdale

Unsure on Kelly and McFadzean.
McFadzean especially seems to prove us wrong every season, and although he's slow, his other attributes make up for it.
Kelly might be purely sentimental, and thought he looked good Saturday but would let go if we can replace with better

Not seen enough of Bapaga, Howley, etc to comment

Moore - Keep
Wilson - Keep
Dabo - Keep
Kane - Keep
Rose - Keep but would be open to a good offer
McFadz - Keep on a one-year deal for his experience. He's great against the many long ball teams in this division.
Hyam - Keep
Bidwell - Keep
Drysdale - Get rid
Pask - Get rid
DaCosta - Get rid
Eccles - Keep
Kelly - Get rid as I assume he will be on high wages for a backup. But wouldn't be against having him around the dressing room for the final year of his deal if we can't move him on
Hamer - Keep but accept an offer over 10m
Sheaf - Keep
Jones - Get rid
Allen - Keep
Shipley - Get rid
O'Hare - Keep but accept an offer over 10m
Howley - Keep around the squad until Jan then loan out
Vic - Keep but accept an offer over 15m
Godden - Keep
Walker - Get rid. Doesn't fit Robins' style. I like him but can't see him making it at Cov.
Waghorn - Get rid if he's willing to take a pay cut and drop down to League 1
Tavares - Keep

All depends who we can get in.

If we suddenly got butt loads of cash I’d replace everyone in the first team bar Györkeres, O’Hare, Hamer and Sheaf. If we’re skint I’d spend any cash on a CB and keep everyone on for cover.

Assuming we sell Hamer and have say £6m to spend on players I’d go:

Moore/Wilson
Dabo/Kane
Hyam/Rose
CB (£1m)/Fadz
LCB (£1m)/Bidwell
LWB (£1m)/Bidwell
CM(£1m)/Allen
Sheaf/Eccles
O’Hare/AM (£1m)
Györkeres/ST (£1m)
Godden/Walker

Sell/release anyone not on that list bar maybe Howley and any other promising U20s. Probably sell Walker as well, maybe even Allen and get a loan CM and loan ST in. Possibly even a loan GK to challenge Moore and let Wilson go.

All signings young, ex Prem or L1 players in the Sheaf/Györkeres mould.

I'd like to see us bring in a CB in the McFadz mould but with pace and a tenacious, mobile ball winning midfield.
Essentially a poor man's Virgil Van Djk and Roy Keane for peanuts
I think I might be disappointed.

Agreed. He stays until the end of his contract & will likely bridge the gap for Hamer's replacement.

It feels strange that outside the 'big 3' & Sheaf, there would be no real championship interest in signing any of the rest, when we could be top 8.

Robins and Viveash get more than the sum of our parts out of us. Look how many players have performed for us but not managed to keep even close to the same level after leaving.

It depends whats considered interest. Likely nobody would pay a fee for our players, but on a free I could see teams picking up Dabo, Hyam, Rose, Godden

Any improvement in the team needs pace…something we lack across the team. Only Tavares has any speed and we need a couple defenders and midfielders with genuine pace.

This about right, altho I would keep Hyam rather than Rose as squad

We do need to free up some cash for two big solid central defenders (assuming the third is a loan), so my preferred sale would be O'Hare, much as I love him. Bidwell remains only as 'squad'. In fact withe exception of RWB, we need a whole new back 5.

Next year the smart defences will have the number of both Vik & O'Hare (as Bournemouth did - they had done their homework).

I've been quite harsh, but my thoughts are as below:

Keepers

Simon Moore - Good #1 - keep.
Ben Wilson - Adequate as backup, even if he loves the pre-match camera a bit too much.

Defence

Michael Rose - If we want to bring in new CB's then we need to ship some out - could be Rose who may command some sort of fee.
Kyle McFadzean - Would possibly keep for another year, but ideally we need a younger one in a similair mould. We need more aggression.
Dominic Hyam - Keep, but for some reason I am still unsure about him at times. Not sure why.
Jake Bidwell - Just signed. Keep.
Josh Pask - Release.
Declan Drysdale - Release.
Todd Kane - Keep, but still think he must improve.
Fankaty Dabo- Keep, but again, I am not sold on him at this level.
Julien Dacosta - Release.

Midfield

Liam Kelly - I am sentimental about him. Probably give another year, but as a squad player and senior role.
Jodi Jones - Clearly not rated after several years of rehab with us. Maybe should have had more chances this year, but guess he goes.
Jamie Allen - Keep as squad player.
Callum O'Hare - Keep ideally. However, we do need to upgrade AM's for more end product, so if we get a stupidly high bid then he goes.
Ben Sheaf - Sometimes I think he is amazing, other times a bit dopey. Definitely on the up however. Think he will continue to improve. Keep.
Gustavo Hamer - Technically I think he is the best. Would really like to keep him. If the 12mil is true however then I would reinvest as much as we can of that across the whole squad and bring in 4 or 5 top quality players (hypothetically).
Jordan Shipley - Beyond time I am afraid. Got to go.
Ryan Howley - Could be about to break into the team? Let's see.

Attack

Viktor Gyokores - Most important to hold onto IMO. Still very young and probably our best player already. Bracing myself for this one.
Matty Godden - The stats don't lie. His goal record is very good, but he needs to be on the pitch more. Keep undoubtedly.
Tyler Walker - I have never been sold him to be honest, and he seems to have regressed this season. Not sure if we can cash in, but I definitely would if we can.
Martyn Waghorn - What was the point? Very disappointing signing. Sounds like he is off anyway.

'Generally we lack Pace and Physique' reminded me of my friend's comment that all I lacked was 'looks and ability'.

If you haven't got pace and phsique (bearing in mind that to be a professional footballer in the first place you must have a degree of skill!) then thare is not much left.

Wow lots of contrasting opinions. But football is a game of opinions. I'll trust Robin's to make the right choices but do not think we will see a clearout of the first team squad all but one or two.

As for hamer, it's been reported he may be going to Celtic? If he is I'd expect 10m for him.
That alone would enable Robins to keep our other best players and bring one or two in.

Don't think that's harsh.

Jodi Jones - We'd be mad to sign him and he'd be mad to sign
Jamie Allen - keep
Callum O'Hare - Keep
Ben Sheaf - Keep
Gustavo Hamer - The one to sell if we have to, drive hard for £10m
Jordan Shipley - Release
Ryan Howley - Loan

Attack

Viktor Gyokores - Keep, sell him last
Matty Godden - Keep
Tyler Walker - Would sell but he's done himself no favours at Pompey, maybe keep and try and play him into form for a January sale
