Lets assume Doug's pockets are nearly empty and there's much talk of still more players needed for a successful season is there a current player you'd let go, not because you think he's not good enough but to fund the players you think are needed and improve the team?

Difficult one. We have a solid squad now. If you want money to reinvest and improve you’d need to sell Ewijk, Simms, Wright or Sheaf. Seriously wouldn’t want to lose any of those but if pushed I’d cash in on Van Ewijk.

Not a bad call, in terms of money required I would probably favour letting Wright go if we could get our money plus a bit back as I'm optimistic about forwards signed for the new season but still worried about our defense.

I would be looking to shift the weakest links. For me that's Wilson or Collins, JDS, Lats, Allen and Palmer

Probably the best shout. How much would you get for him, £1m tops maybe? Don’t see him fitting in a flatter 3 or on the left wing where he’s been most of pre season…

Sheaf - 2 years left, unlikely to sign a new contract, It'll allow us to bolster the squad overall, bring in 2 midfielders and a CB.

None. Especially not any of the key players, it's too late in the day to be switching out those players.

I think Simms, MvE, Wright, Sheaf, Saka are more important to us THIS season than the money they are worth. Those 5 players walk into every single championship club first 11.

If we have a great season (play offs) but don't make the money league, I think we could lose a couple but this was always a few year plan. I think they could all go big money. Excluding those 5 we have Torp and EMC who could elevate.

I don't want to put pressure on him but Simms is our prize possession, with that attack around him, he's going to put some serious numbers up this year.

I think BTA is a stroke of genius, his work ethic is going to be infectious. Nothing but 100% is good enough. If he becomes clinical then that forward line is obscene.

We are in a special place, if we get a player or even two in before the window shuts. RB or C(D)M and we are cooking.

Good answer. If we are successful, success breeds success and better and better players will want to come and play for us

Collins
Wilson
Da Silva
Palmer
Allen
Burroughs
Tavares

Any half decent offer you would think be accepted for the above.

If we received a very good offer then Latibaudiere and Eccles also would be candidates.

Realistically speaking, how much are you getting for them, and are you going to be able to improve them with the money you get?

I'm not sure I would be selling any of our assets this season, we performed well last season given it was a transitional year for many and have only strengthened.

If Doug sees fit, I'm sure he can bankroll an extra player or two and make his money back ten or twenty-fold if we were to get promoted.

Palmer is a cop out answer, if we had to raise serious money and someone had to go it’s Sheaf.

I’d rather go with what we have than let anyone go though fwiw

Sell
Palmer

Loan
Collins
Howley
Obikwu
RBR

Should free up enough funds wise for CM

Keep Burroughs if funds dont allow for another CB or RB

I like Palmer and think he will be a great impact player off the bench this season.
If all the rumours are true it will be hard to hold on to Sheaf, would hate to lose him tbh but if the price is right that's very much the M.O. of the Club....buy well , develop, sell.

He's one of few which would attract a fee to make it worthwhile selling and reinvesting that I also don't think would significantly weaken our first 11 if were to lose them.

If we are to lose one, then it has to be the one for the most money. If we sold one and reinvested sensibly on two maybe three we are pretty much there

The most likely to attract a decent offer are Sheaf and Palmer. I think Milan will be next year

I’d actively try to sell Palmer, but the proceeds wouldn’t really help you add to the squad. Sheaf is at his peak value now though-so if we think keeping him is better overall than using his sale to strengthen across the squad, I support the club taking a hit on what they’d get next summer.

He has served this club very well and been a model pro, whether it’s now or later we’ll miss him when he goes.

You wouldn't get much for any of them. Certainly not enough for a decent new signing.

None of them

Doug has to have a real stab at it this season. Cashing in on other's to 'strengthen' when we've already addressed the depth issue from last year, at this point in time is a waste for me.

We have to go at it, MVE, Simms, Wright, Tats, Thomas all at their peak value next summer with 2 years left. Cash in on 1 or 2 next year

Saying that, this season I would just do what I can to ensure we can bring Madsen in and a loan for the RB/CB Slot

Loan out

Obikwu
Tavares
Howley
Burroughs
Dausch
Andrews

Flog

Palmer
Collins

Should easily bag us enough to get Madsen and a loan

Would happily sell Palmer and one of the keepers. I heard talk of some teams being interested in Palmer, would be lovely if so, maybe get 750K-£1 mil for him and means it’s frees up cash in wages?

I think Sheaf’s brilliant but I wouldn’t be adverse to selling him, I think he’s definitely replaceable if we get £15 mil from him say. He seems to get injured every season and I just think his valuation is more than fair when you consider Hamer went for around the same and Gyokeres only £5m more (granted contracts are different, although I think Sheaf’s expires in 2026?). Doesn’t mean I want to sell him, I just think if there’s any player that can give us a cash injection quickly it’s him.

Edit: Oh and I’d loan out a load of the youngsters, not arsed which.

I think if a good bid came in for any player (15m+ range) we'd have to consider it. That's the model we have and we know we could buy 2-3 really high quality replacements to bolster up the squad all over the pitch. Sheaf and Simms would be the hardest to replace for me. Wright probably the easiest in the sense that we have a lot of options in that position.

I don't think selling Palmer will net us much money so it's kind of a moot point either way.

Agree with all the above, would see how Reuben does in training etc. before sending Tavares out on loan though...
