As I said on another thread I think 9 wins and a couple of draws should do it. For those that agree who do we get the wins from?

Well we should be beating all of the bottom 3 at home.

I would agree though knowing us we could lose 3 of them and win 3 we didn't expect

I think 10 wins. 16 games from now we will wrap it up, and we'll win most of our home games to get there.

We'll then go on to lose to Wrexham, because they're the jammiest most cunty club in the league.

Everything suggests that whether we play well or not we will win the majority of our home games

We have lost one home game all season. We're not all of a sudden going to lose a load of home games. We'll be fine.

Take the point but in the run in all logic goes out the window. Just looked at run in and would expect 7 at home and 2 away in terms of wins

I’d expect us to beat Oxford, Southampton, Preston, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke and Portsmouth at home. Would probably expect us to beat Derby too but they’re actually very good away from home. Middlebrough I can’t call and Wrexham could really be anything as we could either be promoted by then or in a real scrap vs a team who are likely to be going for the play-offs.

Away from home I always struggle to have much confidence in us winning but we should be able to beat Blackburn, Swansea and QPR. Norwich, Hull, Sheffield United, Bristol City and Watford will be tough.

I reckon from our final 18 we pick up ~32 points (9W, 5D, 4L) leaving us on 90pts should be enough, shouldnt it?

Just like for the clubs that are chasing us. The pressure is on them not us.

Pressure is well and truly on us I believe, its ours to lose no game in this league is a given.Norwich playing well Oxford fighting for their lives.I won't believe we are up until no one can catch us until then it will be a very nervy 16 games.

Middlesbrough and Ipswich are on good runs and only 5/6 points away from us so I think we may need 10 wins. As people have pointed out we should be picking up at least 6 from our remaining home fixtures and that’s being conservative. If we can pick up our away form again then should be fine.
Norwich and QPR going to be interesting off the back of 2 good home wins

Our home game against ‘Boro will be key. After giving Ipswich 6 points, taking 6 off them would be massive.

Something no one else seems to have mentioned either is that our goal difference whilst still excellent has really been reduced by Ipswich who now seem to be scoring two or three every game whilst we are either drawing or winning by the odd goal.
on boxing day our goal difference was +16 over Ipswich our nearest gd rival.
Its now down to +7

32 points from here will give us 90 points, which is what I'm hoping we can get to.

Borderline. Won't win the league. Might scrape second.

Even despite a drop off in December, our away form overall is still in the top 5. Avoiding defeat against Boro is pretty important but for everything else, it’s about getting points on the board in any order.

It is interesting that everybody has almost blanked the Norwich away game (in terms of a predicted win) given their recent turnaround. I'm going and (having seen us win there only once in umpteen visits) don't have a clue as to how the game will go. I do wish we'd become a bit more dogged at the back, and hope Bobby Thomas' return may be the difference.

As footie fans we’re a pessimistic lot. There seems to be a concern that Ipswich and Boro will maintain their current upturn in form to the end but we’ll drop off now to the end.

What logic is there to think this is true? Yes we had a blip over Xmas period with injuries, thin squad, suspension etc… but we’re now largely back or possibly stronger than the start of the season. Bobby coming back now will hopefully give a bit more quality in the back.

The thing to remember is that it is all in our hands, the other 2 cannot say that. If we can continue at even 75% of our previous form we should be fine.
However, the other 2 have to continue in their purple patches for the next 20 AND we have to stutter too. ( surely this is not likely ) Also BOTH have to continue this new form, not just one of them….. I will be happy with second place

Interesting take. I always thought the cliche line chucked about by those in football was that it's easier to chase than lead?

Those thinking we or the other 2 will get into the 90s are mental

86/87 will win the league, 83/84 will get your promoted

We got into the play offs on 69 last year, can imagine it will need to be 72 minimum this year. Same with relegation I can see someone going down on 50 points

I'm sure that Ipswich will overtake us on goal difference before the end of February. It may not matter because I think they will finish ahead of us on points anyway.

We must try and maintain the gap to third if we can. Beating Middlesbrough at home - and certainly avoiding defeat - will be important.

The upcoming games may well be key to our fortunes. We face four away fixtures in our next six matches and we have only picked up three points from our last five away games, which is relegation form.

If our away form stays the same and we lose at home to Middlesbrough then we could easily be third or lower by the end of February.

This is, of course, taking a pessimistic view. Our recent poor away form happened when we were suffering from injuries and illness and before we signed Yang and Esse. I'm hopeful that things will pick up.

9 home games left - so all of them should be the aim. They are all winnable. The away games are bonus points then.
