I hope the referee doesn't take any action over it. Wouldnt look good on our first game and we're getting fined!

I hope it's a one off and the fool doesn't consider doing it again

They'd only be good in the right hands, the lad yesterday was clearly just there for trouble, I seen him get arrested after the game and I recognised his face, every game I've seen him at hes had police around him, it's a wonder why they never banned him before hand!

Landed right in front of me. Considered leaping over the barrier to get it off the pitch, but had too many beers to manage it.

And before anyone gets on their high horse. Hand flares are harmless. Flare guns however....

I have seen a fair few of them at city games, I don't see the problem with them myself. They create more of an atmosphere than sitting there eating prawn sandwiches and giving passive aggressive looks at people who are swearing.

Good idea?

Our club can be fined for our fans doing that sort of thing. I also suppose it would have been a good idea if we had a good attack going and the ref blew his whistle to stop the game because a purple smoke bomb had been thrown on the pitch in the penalty area. Any goal could have been disallowed. Still would have been a good idea?

There is no need to throw them on the pitch, but what is the problem with them in the stands?

I have only ever seen a flare or smoke bomb being used to any decent effect at a champions league game I went to in the Czech Republic. At games in the UK they look pretty pants most of the time, just a billow of smoke from a quietish stand that blows over the pitch in daylight looking rather pathetic. I think there are other atmosphere inducing rights we fans should be fighting for such as standing terraces in stadiums that should be getting more attention than creating a bit of smoke.

Absolutely zero evidence to support that claim

I'll buy a smoke bomb and throw it at your feet, then I'll go to the food kiosk and buy a hotdog then slap you around the face with it then hammer throw you to the centre circle
