Mine was Peter Ndlovu. Loved the way he ran at players and scored some ridiculous goals.

Then as I got older I discovered that he fathered half of Coventry, so he was a top shagger as well as a top footballer.

Who were your childhood heroes?

Wallace and Ferguson.
I spent my 8th birthday in hospital and had a visit from Mick Ferguson. He even signed his picture in the history of CCFC book that I got from my mum and dad.
I think about getting Ian Wallace to sign the same picture (they are both in the picture) every legends day but at 54 don't want to look like a gimp taking a book to the match

Oggy. I played in goal, got the goalkeeper kit every year and had to listen to my parents moan about how many much it cost to get his name on the back of it. I’ve met him a few times since and have nothing but good things to say about him. What a guy.

Ysrael Zuniga a close second.

He was a great fullback very under. Did he get a bad injury that finished his career

Another one for the Gallacher and Ndlovu fan club.

Remember cutting their pictures out of the Telegraph and Pink and sticking them on my wall.

Its an age thing obviously and somehow those memories when you are young are the sweetest…..The magical early days for me were Wallace and Ferguson, Steve Hunt, Tommy Hutchison and Bobby Mcdonald. Special mention to Peter Lorimer who we always wanted to emulate as kids…..because reputedly he had the hardest shot in football

Marco van Basten.......was so obsessed with him and AC Milan in the earlier 90s when I was 10-11 years old. I bought the 1992 AC Milan top out of my pocket money that I saved for over a year and then refused to wear it for fear of getting it ruined...it's still in my wardrobe in pristine condition can't wait until it will fit my lad and is used as it should have been!!

As a young City fan, Dublin. The man seemed on a personal mission to keep us in the top flight at times.

Outside of football, Kimi Raikkonen.

I also (and can bet I'm not the only one on here that can say this) at the age of 10 really wanted dreadlocks because of a certain USA midfielder. I was of course told no by my parents. But how many on here wanted dreadlocks in their early years like me?

Hahaha, yes! I had curtains at the time and got a no guard undercut and resorted to using loads of wet look gel to do them.

Pretty obvious who mine was and to have him replaced by a broken Alan Brazil didn’t help my mood when he left.

I did something similar, though it was to try to get a Peter Andre hairstyle. Not sure I should be admitting that...

Mick Ferguson .

Was always him while my mate Brian Cox (no not that one) Was Jim Blythe playing in his back garden or the garages in Earlsdon -mid 70’s.

Brilliant to have a best mate who wanted to be a keeper!
