AS usual you seem to be a little frightened of the prospect. SISU are a hedge fund who obviously don't care what they do. The Council are a public body who have to do everything above board and by the book. If they have done that then great, we can drop the subject and move on. There should be a public enquiry to see if anything was swept under the carpet. After all a "community asset" doesn't get 'given' to a team from a hundred miles away every day, does it?

We don't want a public enquiry, it will only bring out the same facts as the JR.
We just need to know the details behind the Wasps deal so we can put this smoking gun theory to bed once and for all.
The audit report should give us that.

Although many on here would disagree I would be happy to see both Ray Ranson & Gary Hoffman back at this club as long as Hoffman can remove that boil on his backside (Elliot), I believe they could get a consortium together with enough funds to get us to the promised land! Should the chap who instigated that have the decency to stand down It may just help the healing process and unite the fanbase once more
Seems to me ultimately they will require some local help to bring fresh Investment
and obviously people through the gates
A local successful entrepreneur /business man would aid the chances of that happening
This Is the minimum required to refresh the whole atmosphere around/within the Club

Yes! they should stand down, but that ain't going to happen.

Agree on the local business men, but i don't think hoffman and elliot are the answer either. They have been part of the problem. It needs to be completely fresh setup

They have had a practice with her money, now I think when it is nearer to being their own money they would perform better. Hoffman cannot be as hopeless as many on here think, he was earning a fortune at Barclay's as a shareholder I used to get the reports and was shocked at the level of his salary.

As vice chairman of a football club he's been a failure.

Why don't we start the campaign for fisher to stay once sisu leave while we're at it.

Must be nice to have mates in the media. What non story! After two professional council antagonisers in Patton and Nellist he's dug up another with an axe to grind (another who fell out with the party previously) and GCBTTR the only one man fans group that happens to be run by his mate Rob.

Can Reid seriously not find anyone credible to back this? Not even an opposing councillor or even just someone who hasn't had a recent run in with being kicked out the Labour group.

to answer OP: of course not, its nonsense concocted by two or three people and would be a waste of time all around. It won't even serve the purpose of shutting up the likes of Torch and co on here as their decisions aren't based on logic or evidence and they'll rationalise it away like they did the multiple judges decisions.

Have you read the OP?
It's as biased to SISU position as you can get.

In fact, have you read my post? How does that deflect the thread?
Your resorting to personal comments is what does that.
The fact that I attend Wasps matches has nothing to do with my opinions on here.

The audit will give you the facts, a full enquiry will never happen, but talk of will just feed Sisu.

True but I don't know if Fisher can do any better even if it was his own cash.

Hoffman must be in the company of people in London with money to burn and Fisher has Professor Waggott.

I would love to see somebody like Paul Allen (some hopes) a man who has three sporting teams all doing well under his leadership and he is worth 16.9billion but we are more likely to get Joe Dhinsa!

That is not insulting them, you are misrepresenting my comments to polarise a viewpoint.

To their credit, I appreciate that they are not faceless and will speak, answer questions, even to those with opposing views and do contribute to this forum.

They are City fans and they do a decent job on putting the fans point of view, although like all City fans nobody agrees 100% on everything, as is seen on this forum all the time.

1) do you want a public enquiry

Yes, not sure public enquiry is the right term but some sort of investigation into the council's actions. For me there is enough known to cast doubt on how some decisions were arrived at so I think it is in everyone's best interests to get everything out in the open. I don't think we're particularly looking for illegal activity, more if things were done in a correct manner. For example Lucas has admitted ACL wasn't making money as she claimed whilst we were at Sixfields but blamed that on being given incorrect information. What decisions were made based on that incorrect information?

To be frank I'd like the whole lot of them investigated going back to Richardson or even further but that's not going to happen. CCC is a publically accountable body and should be answerable for their actions.

dongonzalos said:
2) do you think the sky blues trust represent most fans views?

Firstly I appreciate the work the Trust put in and that they are using their freetime etc. Things like the marches were excellent but I feel in recent months the Trust have lost their way a little. It doesn’thelp when those at the helm of the Trust are posting provocative messages particularly about Wasps. I think a lot of members feel on the outside looking in where the Trust are concerned. It seems to be a small number of members who can get the Squirrel on a Monday night who are dictating things and if you suggest that the direction being taken might not be correct you get a very defensive response or a 'why don't you do it yourself then'. That makes the whole thing come across as something of a clique and leads to people who may have valid ideas staying away or silent.

I certainly don't think the SISU Out tone is the correct one to take, especially not off the back of results of a poll with a very loaded question. For me the Trust needs to work with the club, even if it doesn't agree with what they club is doing. For example it is perfect valid to say we are 100% against playing at Sixfields but will be assisting the club to ensure any fans who want to attend, particularly those who may find it difficult to get there, can attend. That's not being 'SISU puppets' in my opinion, it's being able to separate off different parts of the argument.

No I don't want a public Enquiry. Les Reid spouts shit. Who are all these supporters clubs wanting a public enquiry? This is a political agenda which SISU are hijacking for their own ends and has nothing to do with the football club at all.

The best thing for the football club would be for SISU to leave and take all their litigation with them. Unfortunately they have cut their losses to a minimum so they can hang around and carry on their court campaign and stirring up crap like this through the likes of Reid.

There are very few people unhappy with what the council have done. SISU wanted ACL to go into admin and for the council to buy it back in the same manner SISU did with ccfc. The council didn't agree to that so SISU tried to force ACL into administration by withholding the rent.

What would you have done if you were the Council? Given in to SISUs demands leaving Higgs and Yorkshire Bank out of pocket?

The results of any enquiry would only advantage SISU and any political opponents of the CCC (Reid and Co). There would be no advantage to football fans or the ordinary folk of Coventry.

It just drags it on and on and on...................
The audit will get into the details on how the council use their funds.
Can't you see all this Public Enquiry is playing into Sisu's hands ?

The people listed by the OP all have an axe to grind.

Supporters Groups all requesting it. They are all small or Sisu driven.

Peter Ward is typical Sisu puppet and I quote ...

Peter added: “I am encouraged by the clear ambition of the board to move the club forward.
“Evidence of a cohesive strategy gives me renewed confidence that the Sky Blues will soon be climbing the league tables, but a degree of patience by fans is required. Given the off the pitch events of the last two seasons it appears a more positive platform is now taking shape to enable a successful football team.

So what? It's not about whether people are "unhappy" or not with the council. It's about if they conducted the sale to Wasps correctly. It's public money and assets they are playing with so they have to be whiter than white. Not sure why it's such a difficult concept to grasp. SISU have shown themselves to be crap owners with little care for us fans so I get all the shit they get. It's warranted.

What would I have done if I were the council? I would have kept the Ricoh. It's not going anywhere, ACL were supposedly doing nicely, CCFC had gone back after their year away and it could have been a new start. Do I mean they could have sold it to SISU? No, not necessarily but SISU won't be here forever. Unfortunately, Wasps are.

That decision has meant we will NEVER own the Ricoh and pushes SISU closer to trying to get a new stadium organised. Even if we were taken over I wouldn't be surprised if our new owners felt the same. The Ricoh was pretty soulless before, it's even more of a horrible place now.

Selling to a franchise was a massive decision and it needs to be scrutinized.

Fans disagree on what happened, who said what when, what % of fans want SISU out, what % of blame SISU should take over the current shambolic state of the club. However there seems general agreement on two points. Firstly that SISU overall stewardship of the club has been an utter disaster, thousands of fans lost, many probably forever, terrible PR, false promises, a squad lacking in numbers and quality. The apparent awful state of the club shop with virtually no stock, every aspect of the club seems to be an utter car crash.
Secondly it now appears that ACL is not exactly a cash cow and presently appears to have struggled to generate even a break even position. Now Wasps own it outright,it remains to be seen whether they can improve its position.
A lot of fans wanted SISU to be offered the same deal that Wasps had, and indeed if that had happened and SISU had then sold up and moved on ,I think most fans would have taken that. However if they had stayed with complete control of ACL, on past evidence, it is hard to see that they would have been anything other than an utter disaster for ACL. Yes the Ricoh would have felt more like our home, but gates were and having been tumbling for ages. Lots of fans have talked about the dreadful matchday experience, I'm not sure the removal of a couple of Wasps badges would greatly improve that experience.

What will enquiry achieve?
Will it change anything?

If by some strange reason SISU win in the Courts it will just go to appeal after appeal.

The only people who should ask for any sort of enquiry are rate payers of Coventry as it will be us who have to foot the bill eventually.

1. It will show whether the sale was conducted properly.
2. Nothing probably, but that's not the point, is it? I would think a lot of fans would rather we owned the Ricoh rather than Wasps, though I know a few are pretty happy about it.

You said yourself, it's your money. So don't you want to know if it was used wisely? I get a feeling, you don't on this one issue.

Who will pay for this enquiry?

I do not like my Council most of the time and unhappy about a lot of things they do but they have a job to do and that's doing what's best for us.

It will clear up questions for a start. If it's shown that the Wasps deal was straight down the middle and warranted then great, we forget it and move on. If it shows otherwise then there's a chance that CCFC could own their own stadium in Coventry. Surely, even our fans' organisation wants that?
