Lifelong city fans ,my son and I still talk about the emotion of 87but if the games move from the Ricoh we will be taking a football break until my team comes home again . For a fix , we might nip down the casino on match days and have a couple of pints . Pusb

So if they are playing at Ansty you won't go?

In the interim, if the plan is a real one with inward investment of players and a real chance of promotion while the new stadium is being built then yes I probably would.

300+ thousand people would probably feel the same. So much bravado on here I could can it and make money.

You can't really believe there is any chance of promotion while playing at walsall with a few thousand people providing terrible revenue for ffp?

I predict it could be the Conference by the time the new stadium is built.

My guess is crowds of around 3,000 this season at Walsall.

We're going to struggle big time on that.

Why would we struggle O ? If SISU set forth their plan it invariably included funding the next couple of years with some screwed up Fair Play rules not applying while at a temporary ground? Enough to outspend most in this tin pot league to make a promotion charge surely?

why would the fair play rules not apply? next year we should survive because it will use this years revenue, can't see us getting promoted though, the year after that we are screwed and will have a budget similar to the teams that got relegated this year except that will put us in a worse position than them as we will still have some players on large contracts. If we truely do a ground share for multiple years I'd be willing to bet a very large ammount of money we'd have dropped from league one by the time we move into the new ground.

Linnell said the new ground will have 8k capacity too, thats freaking nuts and also suggests sisu dont think we'll be in league one either.

linnell or timmy...who os the biggest wanker!! they can both go and play witheach other at the home games in front of a few hndred other mugs. This is war for me now..40 years of watching my club, and we have to put up with shits likel this

We are going to struggle surely aren't we? To bring players in we need season ticket sales and money from merchandising, like new kit etc.

We haven't even begun to sell season tickets and when we do the figure is going to be incredibly low.

And how on earth is the 8,000 in the future going to inspire anyone? That is setting your stall out for us to still be a failure and not challenging.

We all know that if we were succesful that we would get so much more than 8,000 back home.

8,000 capacity stadium would have us with the smallest ground in the West Midlands.

Great forward thinking that!!

With work commitments, I can't make the majority of games these days but I've still been buying 3 season tickets so that various family members can come with me when I go. I kept buying season tickets partly because I like the people I sit near and partly to give a little extra revenue to the club.

If we have new owners I'll get an extra ticket (there's a spare seat nearby).

If we have SUSU at the Ricoh, I won't buy a season ticket but I expect I'll end up going to the odd home game.

If we move out of Coventry, I'll go to away games when and where I can.

Moving out of the city, planning on building an 8,000 capacity stadium and reduced to selling stuff from a large wheelbarrow.

This is where we are, this is where we are going and the slide into the dark recess gathers more and more momentum with each passing year.

SISU's track record does not inspire confidence. Faith in an organisation that has inherent failures is a worry.

Well if you can afford it and disapprove the move, I can think of no better way of supporting CCFC than by only going to away games.

You still have the Sky Blues in your veins and you're still supporting them, only it will be just at away fixtures only.

What players? Can't see us attracting many and what happened to the 'more first team squad to be released.' Just been the initial 4 and then a few kids.

All gone quiet since then. Guessing Pressley is realising he might not have many players left.

If Torchomatic isn't going to support the club outside the City I think he's a good yardstick of how bad it will be for SISU.
I don't know Torchy but I guess - reading his regular posts - being a City fan isn't just 'entertainment' for him. I'd imagine he's passionate about them and it will have been a big decision if we do play outside Coventry - not to go to 'Home' games. If a 'diehard' like him makes that choice it'll be a very empty Bescot or wherever.
I'd brand myself as a diehard too and much as it would hurt me, I very much doubt I'll go to 'home' games outside the city. My dad's the same too.
Let's hope PH4 or somebody makes a move soon and we can all breathe easily again.

As I posted earlier in another thread, i've missed about 5 away games in over 20 years, there are a group of 7-8 of us that go to every game, 4 of us have away season tickets. I can't speak for all 8 of us but from what's been said we will not be going to any home games if we move out. I definitely won't be and my dad won't be, he's had a ST since the mid 1960's.

As you say once you start getting the die-hards not going it really will be telling. I think we'll do well to get 700 at Walsall let alone 7000!
