Haji wide left worth a shout? Played there against Wolves and Man Utd to great effect. Then get that unit in up front and a RW, Rudi in behind. Couple of CMs a CB and a LB and you’re pretty much there.

maybe get more decisions in his favour in the Prem, refs in the Champ are shite and he gets fouled a lot as does Saka

I’ve always liked Haji on the left, but I think Lampard prefers a different kind of winger.

With the amount of defending we will have to do, absolutely not. Need someone with proper work rate out there.

No, he’s not really good enough defensively to play there in the Prem. His attacking output is objectively better whenever he plays as a striker.

EMC is also one of our best attacking players…

Bobby Thomas definitely. His ability at set pieces will be important. He’s still young for a CB, could be an established PL defender in 2-3 years.

If we somehow cock it up and don’t go up, id imagine he’ll be established in the PL anyway.

Could see him going to a lower team like an Everton. I could imagine him next to Tarkowski. He’s definitely better than Michael Keane.

EMC because someone else doesn’t defend is a choice.

Set peices are massive in premier league now.

Brentford stayed up their first seaosn in premier league 2021 because in large part due to set pieces.

We need focus on our strengths and other teams weaknesses.

Use Thomas and an other centre backs and units as a weapon.

Luton created havoc at home with set pieces. Just couldnt see games over the line at home.

Stay up with whatever means nescessary.

Hope Boro and an other team get promoted other than Ipswich.

Looks like 2 of 3 promoted teams last year are gonna stay up. Leeds and Sunderland ( who may have 2nd season sussed out reality check).

Thats 4 teams we should be playing with in a mini league.. plus add to fact Palace dont look great with all their turmoil.

EMC’s defensive part of the game has come on leaps and bounds. The stats back this up because EMC has made more tackles, recoveries, balls won in final third than Sakamoto this season.

Sakamoto has more interceptions, blocks and clearances.

The narrative of EMC being a weak defender was true last season, not this one and one quick look on his year on year stats demonstrates this.

It’s heart over head perhaps but I’d love to see Cov lad Josh Eccles on the pitch in the Prem. I’d find it to be a really special moment

Is that just English clubs or all loans cos this reads like the former:

How many loans are allowed for Premier League clubs?

Find out how Premier League clubs are limited in the number of players they can bring in on loan from English clubs

Thomas also has relatively decent pace for a CB which we'd need in the PL.

Read the same article as you. Looked at a few more and they all say the same thing except the google search which says.

In the English Premier League, clubs are allowed to have a limited number of loans during a season:
  • Maximum of four loans can be registered in the same season.
  • Two players can be on loan at any one time.
  • One loan cannot be from the same club at any one time.
  • A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.
  • Loans from clubs in other National Associations do not count towards these quotas.

Watched that show on Sky on Sunday morning where they have the national reporters on. One of the panelist said that its proven that where you finish in the league has a direct correlation to the amount you spend on wages. Premier league teams have to pay to survive is what he is basically saying. If DK wants to keep us up, if we get there, then his wages will have to be in the region of 70% of turn over to attract the talent you need for success. So on top of that you have to pay higher transfer fees needed for those middle of the table players that can compete with the likes of the Everton squad, which is where I think the benchmark should be in terms of a squad to keep you up. Does DK have a plan or do we hope we survive and pay off the mortgage on the ground?

Haven't Sunderland spent £160 million to try and crack staying up fair play to them too as they seem to have given it a go.

It looks pretty likely that Brighton still want Rushworth but have we got half a chance of a loan next season? He's probably priced himself out of our league now.

GK: Sign Rushworth permanently | Dovin as GK2 | Wilson as GK3
RB: MVE the starter | KKH as backup is fine with me
CB: 2 New Signings | Thomas as rotation/competition | Keep Lati as CB4 | Sell Kitching and Woolf
LB: New Signing | Dasilva as backup even though his complete lack of athleticism terrifies me | Sell Bidwell, loan out Brau
DM: Onyeka starts |Grimes/Torp/Eccles as rotation | 1 new signing minimum
RW: New Signing | Sakamoto rotates | BTA as an option
AM: Rudoni| Ne w signing to competet| BTA as an option
LW: New signing | EMC as rotation/competition | BTA as an option
ST: New Signing | Wright as rotation/competition | Simms as ST3

That's 8 new signings for a squad of 26. So as long as one of the new signings is under 21 they will all be able to registered.

I think this comes back to the “not all that counts can be counted”. He’s not great at consistently covering the left back but there isn’t an Expected Dawdles stat. For the record, I’m not saying that he never does it but he’s more prone to lapses in concentration than Sakamoto (who himself let a man go v Sheff Utd).

If he refuses a contract extension then they’ll sell him. He loves it here so there’s a chance.
