Kasper Schmeichel? Might seem ridiculous but he's out of contract at the end of this month and according to T'interweb is only on £4k a week at Anderlecht. We do love bringing back an ex player for another go!

Proper leader but will be on way way more than that ….

Not that he's my ideal, but don't rule out Nathan Baxter of Bolton. 26 years old and ex Chelsea youth. You know what that might lead to.....

I also think that Americans tend to make good goalkeepers when coming over to the UK; Friedel, Guzan, Howard. Is it because when growing up they were involved a lot in catch sports such as American Football and Baseball?

Addressing why Americans usually make good goalkeeper, it’s probably the prevalence of hand-eye coordination sports they prefer, like you said.

Also, Tony Meola was a decent goalie for the States, and he had experience as a goaltender in Ice Hockey.

Collins was fine for us last season till the team tired and injuries caught up with us . He seemed to have a dip in confidence but prior to that his shot stopping was fantastic but he doesn't seem to catch many crosses ,which seems to be the modern way with goalkeepers .

WTF what are you on about? Catching crosses is the modern way with goalkeepers.
Until keepers started wearing massively oversized gloves, coming out and claiming crosses was expected from any decent keeper.
Punching the ball away was the last resort, and you were expected to punch it away from the danger area.

Realistically, who would you like to see as our number 1?

I've seen Dan Bentley mentioned a couple of times and seen we have been linked with a Scandanavian keeper also.

I firmly believe Collins is far from good enough and he needs to be replaced, who ya reckon by?

Jordan Pickford, well you did ask.

Apparently Derby and Brum (??) are interested in Rodak. His level is much higher than that. We're definitely in within a shot if management are interested.

I really hope we are done with players Chelsea binned off years ago. Or lads that Viveash coached in the Chelsea under 12s or whatever it was.

Always liked Micheal Cooper at Plymouth. Has had a few injuries but fits the profile well at 24, plenty of time to improve as such a young age for a keeper. However with over 151 appearances enough to make an impact right away. Think he’s out of contract next year also but sure there will be other clubs sniffing around.

For some reason I thought he'd had a run in with the law, but couldn't find anything online.

Definitely one to look at, only concern is his previous injury record.

No idea why but I think that any country that’s east of, and including, Austria/Czech/Croatia etc tends to “make” good keepers. That’s not to say that those countries always make the very best keepers but the ratio of good keepers to good outfield players seems to be higher in those countries than in countries west of that area.

I know I get a lot of stick for “only” liking European players but I do think we’ve had our fair share of average British keepers and none have been great. The Eastern European countries do tend to produce great keepers and that’s personally where I’d be looking at. Although at this stage I’m not bothered where they’re from, we just need a quality keeper that’s not jumping up from league 1 or is a cast off from Sunderland etc.

David De Gea

I am worried that Wrexham signing a keeper may mean we end up keeping Wilson and not bringing in another keeper

Yes, I also remember Derek Dougan commentating on a game and he couldn't pronounce RA's name and said " Raddy Raddy the goalkeeper ".

He was in goal in season 83-84 & in 2 consecutive games let 1 in from a goal kick against Watford and then punched the ball into the goal against Stoke. He never played for us again

Karl Darlow for me.

Wouldn’t be adverse to either Rodak or Bentley as been mentioned on here previously
