We had never heard of Hamer before he came here. Some unknown in continental Europe or lower league could replace him...its not a case of looking for "knowns". But...not may diamonds out there so would be difficult. We can't let him go for nothing though
But as yet nobody as far as we know has bid anywhere near what we value him at other clubs know his contract situation are perhaps being a bit coy.
Doug King knows too but won’t let him go cheap and I don’t blame him, he stayed firm with the Gyokeres transfer and moved Sporting up another 5 or 6 million quid, he should do so with this situation too.

I think the issue is not that he doesn't have the technical ability, just that he tries to score from almost every corner he takes. It's a very low percent likelihood and after a while teams pretty much plan for it.
Not sure who could replace Gus , he covered the pitch top to bottom, his energy and vision to read every game was something that only a few could achieve.

Grimes is a great player but he is one of the championship players that are seeing out a contract that is highly inflated. We can't match it,his next contract will be for far less.
Also , his wife has left him to go back to Holland. Just bullshit. I know she found it difficult to settle here because she didn't speak any English , But that was three years ago. To say she left her marriage and husband because she's home sick is just ridiculous.
