OK managed to convince my lad to become a Sky Blue so far so good - 7th Birthday in August - full kit bought - now the important part, he's never seen a live football match so which should be his 1st Home game? First impressions are going to matter so really want to see a decent win and some goals!!

but at that age I am not sure it matters because the place will seem huge to him and he wont have seen so many people in one place i would guess..... just make it a big adventure and he will be hooked . He will love it. Sheffield is a night game so you might, as he is 7, want to wait for the Saturday game against the mighty Bury
Having said that the first game i took my youngest daughter(then 7) to was Macclesfield at home in the FA cup at Highfield Rd .... it put her off for life and we won 7 nil! Thankfully my lad is made of sterner stuff
Do they do the facepainting in the JSB section regularly? If so, get him involved with that and the result probably won't even register. I'd definitely forget how crap we are if I was decked out like a lion.
Is he a quiet lad? Or a bit of a character? Id say if hes not too quiet drop him in at the deep end, block 15 so he gets some atmosphere
My lad was just over 5 when i took him to his first game last year and he barely paid any attention to the football, he spent the whole time gorping around at the stadium and the people sitting around us. Within 3 games hes demanding to sit in the "noisy" bit and shouting at the ref (dont know where he gets it from??)
It seemed to be more about the adventure than the football for the first few games then quickly switched and city, footballs, football kits, fifa, sky sports news becamse his obsession
