This isn't an original proposal, but could I suggest that for the remaining games leading up to Wembley MR ditches the has-beens he's inherited and plays a combination of those who'll still be with the club come next season and promising youngsters? You never know, they might come good, and what better incentive than the chance to play at Wembley? The idea that it might destroy their confidence has to be horse-shit - surely any footballer worthy of the name would bite your hand off?
I'm going on the pop all weekend. Staying in a hotel near Chelsea's ground. Going to Chelsea v Palace Saturday. Boys day out....although the wife doesn't know yet. She thinks that I am sightseeing with her Then on the pop again after the game. Crawl into my bed. Then get up Sunday morning and do it again. Have drinking pop ruined by a game of football. Then back on the pop. Crawl back into my bed again. Then go home on Monday.
