Autos contenders: Ipswich, Southampton, Leicester (depending on points deduction)
Playoff pushers: Sheff Utd, Cov, Birmingham, Boro, Norwich, West Brom
Midtable mediocrity: Wrexham, Millwall, Watford, Derby, Stoke, Blackburn, Bristol City, Swansea, Pompey, QPR
Relegation candidates: Sheff Wed, Preston, Hull, Oxford, Charlton

Without the issues in defence and up front being sorted, I expect we’ll be top 10 but short of the playoffs. If they get strengthened we’ll be firmly in the top 6, but given that as yet we haven’t sorted the issues, I went with the former.

7th - I’m concerned with the lack of goals from the guys up top. Genuinely hope they prove me wrong.

I know we have the issue of lack of cover in a few positions in case of injuries and good enough quality players to take over but we're not alone. Most clubs have been signing players for their 1st team that wouldn't make our 1st team. Most teams that have signed quality players, for instance Norwich, are replacing players sold. They have lost the players that scored about half their goals. That's not easy to replace.

For those who put us as maybe mid table try considering the 10 sides that will finish above us. Under Lampard we got the 4th most points. 2 of the sides that got more were Leeds and Burnley who were a class above the rest. So far we've kept our side together and have even strengthened.

If we get a good start which is a good possibility and Rudoni carries on from where he finished last season we could well be looking at a top 2 finish.

Always find it difficult to make predictions whilst the window is still open. If we do the business needed in the next couple of weeks I could see us making a genuine push for automatics, albeit we would probably just fall short and end up finishing 3rd or 4th. I think if things stay as they are and we do not make any more major incomings I think we are more likely to be battling for 6th space, but I back this team to make it. Either way I think we will be at Wembley in late may for the play off final

For some reason I feel less confident than last year. That's not to say I think we'll be shit, but last year I was thinking 3rd-5th and this year I'm thinking 6th-8th.

I just feel like that insane run we went on last year won't be repeated, though I don't expect us to start as badly this year.

The defence needs sorting, if we get a top quality CB in then I'll certainly be very optimistic.

We won't need a run like that if we don't give the top sides a 3 month head start. Remember when Lampard took over and we were only 3 points out of the relegation battle? I was called every name imaginable for still thinking we were good enough for the top 6. We still have that same side plus have strengthened.

Of course the transfer window is still open for another 4 weeks. But can anyone see us starting the season weaker than we are now unless we get an offer we can't refuse for Rudoni? We also need to keep Wright but same again if the money is right and we have time to bring in replacements.

This is our strongest side since the last century. Anything outside the top 6 would be underachieving.

Pretty much agree but I'd say Derby and Millwall will be pushing for playoffs.

Can't see anything but mid table at best for both of them.

Agree with Millwall actually. Should’ve had them in playoffs

The bookies have Millwall at 40/1 and Derby at 50/1. Fill your boots

Derby with Eustace will definitely be up there, how he did with Blackburn proves that.

It proves nothing. Different players different situation.

I want to see Wrexham burn money. A squad of crocs by Christmas and then more money into the fire.

City, who knows? I hoping fourth. The problem being that the pundits are talking so many others op.
The four plus the Americans.

Realistically top 6.

With my skyblue tinted glasses on-Autos.

Also depends on performance of those Prem relegated teams.

Be great to get a good start this season and actually not have to play catch up!

If we bring in a couple of players that actually make the team better-defo autos.

Stick with what we’ve got 4th easy.

My thoughts exactly.

Can't see us beating Ipswich but the rest we will have to wait and see.

That would be a bad season if we finished behind a Wednesday team who have no money and no players!

I hope we go up, that's my heart talking. Reality, I think we have the best squad for many years and although many won't agree I think FL is a step up from MR, apologies. If we get off to a good start we could do well, however, if we start off poorly I think we will be playing catch up and play offs at best.

Anywhere from 4th to 12th. Parachute teams with their big money (especially wages), Birmingham and Wrexham flexing their muscles with some big spending, other teams like Norwich spent well so far. I'd imagine the usual Middlesbrough, West Brom, etc will be around the chasing pack for the playoffs. Going to be a very interesting season. Hopefully we can do what we're not used to doing and start the season well!

I was about to say it doesn't really need to be repeated. We just need to stop making life considerably harder for ourselves by starting the season poorly.

We already as it stands have a squad and a coaching staff that is more than capable of getting us to the play offs again as long as we address the mistakes from last season and of course supplement with 2-3 more additions.

a few at the top, a few at the bottom, and lots in the middle who could finish anywhere.

12th-15th.

Weirdly feel pessimistic this season. Think we’ll be comfortably safe but a bit of a boring season with nothing to play for
