The ticket I bought from Highfield road happened to be in the Spurs end. Anyway went down on the train with a few mates and managed to swap it with a Spurs fan who had a ticket for our end. Soon after I thought bollucks hope it isn’t a forgery. But it wasn’t. In the ground when Houchens goal went in I bashed my flag into a guy in front and apologised but he didn’t give a fuck .
Massive queue for trains on way back. On the train everyone was strangely quiet. Think everyone was emotionally drained but then one guy shouted up,fuckin hell lads we’ve just won the Cup. Cue singing all the way home. When we got back the town was going mental. I sat on the bonnet of some strangers car with my flag flying high. I was told that some pubs in the town actually ran out of beer. Finally met up later on with my mates in Earlsdon where the party continued.

Yeah your right, I was in that carriage on the way back to Cov, absolutely drained with the emotion.

The Four Seasons once sang, Oh What a Night, back in 87.

That year was my final year at Uni. The cup run was priority and I really couldn't be arsed to revise when the excitement of the Cup run took over. A combination of laziness at the time and that brilliant season explains the 2.2 at the end of it all.

After the game I returned to SW12 where I lived at the time. I walked along Balham High Road with a very large Coventry City flag round my shoulders. Almost everyone passing in their cars gave me a toot or a cheer or both. Everyone in London it seemed, apart from Spurs fans of course, wanted us to win. It was brilliant . It was only a 5 minute walk from the tube station to my gaff but I'll never forget that walk.

Down on the train to London with a couple of guys….like someone else on here had to exchange my ticket with a Spurs fan to get in the Cov end. Train back to Hinckley…met my mates, went down to the Bounty and got in a hell of a punch up with some cunty Leicester fans !

My friend got me 4 free tickets from Fiat Norwich , I lived in Ealing at the time , every bar I went to later in the evening , I was greeted by complete strangers who supported other London teams and were happy we beat Spurs .

Those were the good old days of watching Fa Cup final build up..they used to have cameras on team bus. Was really built up to be a big occasion.

These days so much choice on TV you wouldn't even know if you missed a big game.

Yeah those were the days we were starved of live football just highlights on one channel, with some bloke presenting it with a big chin.

I can assure you we won 3-2.
If in doubt just check ITV4 - It's on every 2-3 days.
