Credit to all the real fans, the ones who have weathered the times, supported the club through thick and thin. Let's enjoy the next few months knowing we stayed strong and never went to watch Wasps or Coventry United.
To the 10 thousand proper fans of this club, enjoy. CCFC.

Majority of people going now are the same ones that were going then. It’s just they are now more regular.

I had a season ticket from the Ricoh opening up until the move to Northampton. The move broke the habit for me and I just started picking and choosing my games. I imagine many were in the same boat.

Which part of “I picked and chose” constitutes not going?

Also, are you trying to say we were good between 2005-13????

This superfan bollocks is really tiresome. You aren’t special just because you had a season ticket in 2014

Fair play to everyone that's going now.
It's a much better experience than rattling around a two thirds empty bowl. I hope I never experience that again.

Proper fans? I take it you see yourself as a 'proper fan'.

I'm one of those pretend supporters these days. When life allowed I hardly missed a game but things changed. Life changes for many including health reasons, working shifts and even not being able to afford to go.

I'm no superfan. It's been years since I hardly missed a game home or away. Lived nowhere near Coventry and was a shift worker, but when available for a game I wouldn't consider the distance. For instance Yeovil was about 400 miles each way for me.

How about those who followed us everywhere but are now in bad health?

Life changes. It's great to see the support we now have. Proud of what has happened the last few years and would love to go to every game home and away but it's impossible. So that makes you a much better supporter than me. I'll be thinking about you the next time I'm taking 2 or 3 days to go to a single game.

10,000 ? I’ve been to games where we only had 3,000 so I guess that’s another 7000 bandwagoners

I discussed City 2-1 Wimbledon yesterday on forum. 1989/90 season. Looked yesterday & it's on You Tube. I reckon 4000 in stadium at home when we got our late winner. Take a look.

Yes hated going to st Andrew’s at first but it did feel like a big away day out every match and the football was good So in a strange way become quite enjoyable - I assume you could call it trying to make something good out of a bad situation

Was working in Brum at the time.
Would often go in and do a few hours in the morning on a matchday then get on the ale.

On more than one occasion I found myself on my own in the bullring tavern at 11.30 in the morning. Pretty grim now I think about it!

-Started going in 97
-First season ticket 2003 all the way to 2013
-Stopped going through the Northampton debacle, then when we returned i went to games but probably only 4 or 5 a season
-Weirdly started going a lot more regularly in the L2 days and got the bug back again
-Restarted ST first St Andrews season and not stopped since

You’re a fan. You have put time and effort into our football club purely because you wanted to see it better itself.
That’s all that matters.

I couldn’t give a frigg as to which games someone did or didn’t go to over the past 25 years

I expected the club to be liquidated at some point. There was nothing physical left of the old club.
I wanted it to happen, as I saw it as the only way to have a functioning club to support going forward

Please don’t lie and pretend you expected the rise to happen.
The most likely outcome was the club ceasing to exist by the early 2020s. A phoenix club would’ve taken its place.

I remember a load if us got to Crewe about Midday and started drinking in the Express which I beleive was a home pub, by 4pm we had over took the place, was heaving, Crewe Youth goading City fans through the windows. David Mapp's (police liason) hitting stick had never seen so much action.

Pretty sure they over sold the ice cream stand as well. Concidering we lost was a stand out away day and the origin of the infamous "Dan, Dan, Dan" CWR phone call

I'm nothing but a glory supporter- wasn't even aware of the club til we won the cup, and had a season ticket throughout the 90s that I promptly gave up when we went down. The fact I wasn't yet at school in 87, and moved 100 odd miles away in 2001 is by the by.

Get to 4-8 games a season home and away depending on fixtures, finances and family visits. That'll be the same next season (if anything, slightly less due to ticket availability, and that's fine, good luck to those with the points who've done the hard yards year on year), and it'll be the same the year after whether we're in the Championship or Champions League.

I've been one of those padding the numbers at Notts C away, play off home games and the Wembley trips. I've watched on with envy at The Old Trafford Cup win, Boro away in the playoffs, MK away in the league 2 season. I've also got defeats to Forest Green, Colchester and Leyton Orient away in the league cup on my CV. Suspect there are many more who are the same. Love seeing the amount of young kids at the CBS, and that those in their 20s and 30s will finally get to experience what we old timers did in the 90s- the future is Sky Blue.

It’s frustrating seeing all the ‘fans’ coming out of the woodwork but it comes with the success. We can’t have it both ways, if we want full stadiums and good atmosphere we need the new fans although I must admit it does wind me up when I see lads up the CBS now that were Liverpool/ man united fans 10 years ago.

Spot on watched Us since the 70s. think we took it for granted being in the top flight all those years, just hope the kids going now get as many years as we did watching the best players, not taking it for granted this time

Inappropriate owners buying football clubs is a problem that still exists. Wednesday being a prime example and there are numerous others, though to be fair Joy did eventually sell to an owner with the necessary werewithal and ambition.
