One good thing (if uncomfortable to utter) is that events of the past year have probably indeed focussed minds on being more flexible in deals than they were previously.

Whoever follows SISU may in fact have cause to thank them for that...

Funnily fans are quite naturally urging both sides to around the negotiating table, and yet within half an hour of the Judge's statement SISU are announcing their intention to appeal and start yet more costly and pointless legal action. There court room defeat could hardly have been more damning, and yet they remain in a state of complete denial, always blaming others for their own ineptitude.
If you were ACL, you would have to ask why would you seek to get involved with SISU again, and risk possible further legal threats further down the road. If it wasn't for CCFC being involved I would expect most sane people to advise ACL never again to even attempt any commercial agreement with SISU.
Which ever way the judge ruled it is clear that SISU were intent on further legal action. CCC have made it clear they want to have there legal costs paid, which means even more debt will probably loaded onto the club.

Since the club left the Ricoh they have publicly stated they can't work with ACL.

They asked for a 3-year deal when they were still there and CCFC Ltd hadn't been split off and liquidated.

Edit: It was January 2013 as part of the rent negotiations, during the threat to build a new ground. The club weren't even in administration at that point. It wasn't an offer for a short term return to the Ricoh, it was a request for the lease to be shortened by 39 years.

So they asked for a 3 year run off on an agreed lease that had 40 years to run and with no compensation and ACL said no?
Ask yourself why.

Dead right Norman When 2 parties have been at war for some time and suffered losses , its always fresh in their minds in a negotiated peace . One side will always think they have the whip hand looking back at the battles . The council on this occasion ,i think. SISU have 50 million reasons to compromise and i cant see the council being too bullish now either . Best go for a points win, not a knockout !

Well he doesn't seem to be finding any new players but what do we need them for we have about a dozen lawyers that CCFC seem to be paying maybe they can play instead.

Also isn't it amazing that no one mentioned this whole "ACL are now debt ridded for 43 years" line until it appeared on the club website this morning?

Then it starts popping up all over the place on here.

Some posters really are brainless sheep who believe anything attributed to CCFC must be correct.

Similarly I'd never heard anyone mutter "unencumbered" until Ann said it. It became a buzzword for a while on here.

But yeah, I get what you mean.

No winners, only losers!

Mainly the fans but we must move onwards and upwards and if that means pastures new, so be it.

Meanwhile I hope CCC feel proud of themselves and ACL have 43 years to turn around their business and repay their debts and make it a success!

you never learn do you SISU were going to win the JR according to you they didn't stop your bickering at the council and ACL. they at least have tried to get us back at the ricoh circa 400 k rent and even rent free don't be a complete tosser and admit its all over

If only SISU would call off their appeal and get round the table to strike a deal, we could be back at the Ricoh for the new season and with the projected revenues of 10k fans, we can rebuild our threadbare squad.

We can all dream, eh? SISU are like a dog with a bone, they will continue with their smash and grab attempt until they get what they want, no matter that the cost to the fans.
