After seemingly chasing this guy & with certain good attributes that might give us more potency as a team , it has gone stone cold………. Anyone heard anything, or another false alarm ?

The rumour was started about 6 days ago, there are still aspects to be considered if he’s signing: transfer fee, salary, work permit (?) and arrangements to relocate.

I don’t buy the line that we’re not interested, because data-wise, he would be exactly what we’re looking for in a CMF.

He will be on decent money out in Austin. This will be down to whether or not the player and his family want to up and move to the UK. He won't be moving for much more wages 100 percent.

There is often a big disparity in MLS salaries between the top earners and the rest of the squad, as they have Designated Players. A couple of sites I looked at had him on $2400 per week / $125k p/a.

I mean didn’t all this start cause an Argentinian Romano with over 100K say he was joining us.

Seems to be an absolute mess for the Twitter ITKs either way

I guarantee you he's on around 10 grand a week out there. When you look at the highest earners, yes, they earn 100's of grand a week, but the wages in general in texas are ridiculous in comparison to the UK. Pereira will be on between 8-12k and week.

ITKs are all desperate losers vying for attention with hit and hope bullshit. The real way to find out transfer scoops is to keep an eye out for the cov Twitter admin accidentally pasting Luis Binks' name on to an image

This source will be accurate:

MLS Players Salary Guide | MLS Players Association

Every year the MLS Player Association releases our annual salary guide, listing each player in the MLS along with their current salary. We see this transparency as an extremely important part of our mission to support and protect the player community.
mlsplayers.org

$514,375 annually.
That's currently £7320 p/w sterling, so not a bad shout.

I'm not sure I'd bother comparing salaries of sportsmen to other industries. There's experienced Austin first team players on that list on half his salary.

Also from a income tax perspective they pay significantly less tax than we do. At all income levels. Its stupidly low compared to this country.

If he performs well in the Championship it’s the path to significantly higher earnings even with the tax issue.

They pay less direct tax, but they do have to buy medical insurance, etc, which currently is covered by government in the UK.
This could change here as Farage wants us to change to a health insurance system rather than government funded NHS

In America they have what's nicknamed the "Jock Tax" as well. So professional athletes will get taxed according to how often they play in each state or city. For example an NFL player based in Florida will not pay income tax but in a season they might play away games in Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas and will be taxed at the local rate. Some of them go by state, some by city.

See "Michael Jordan's Revenge":

There is always the golden handshake and pension considerations.
