There is often a big disparity in MLS salaries between the top earners and the rest of the squad, as they have Designated Players. A couple of sites I looked at had him on $2400 per week / $125k p/a.He will be on decent money out in Austin. This will be down to whether or not the player and his family want to up and move to the UK. He won't be moving for much more wages 100 percent.

I'm not sure I'd bother comparing salaries of sportsmen to other industries. There's experienced Austin first team players on that list on half his salary.
