Now that is shocking.Been talk of anxiety amongst as low as 5 and 6 year olds.
A good list there Oakey. In the pub recently we were talking about when we were young etc, and how we got on fine without technology. We thought back then mobile meant moving about,and twitter was something to do with birds !The list of pressures on all of us increases but for children today here are a few,
Immaturity is encouraged by parents who mollycoddle and do everything for them.
This leads to lack of resilience, unable to cross a road.
poor skills ... many children start school in nappies, cannot do the basics like shoelaces, cannot throw or catch a ball etc etc.
Low knowledge and poor memory... all is outsourced to mobiles. I know 15 year olds who cannot read an analogue clock, understand Roman numerals, understand the basics of the seasons and wildlife.
SOCIAL MEDIA and FOMO. Kids are obsessed with what others think of them, their appearance ...
Schools are now exam factories. The kids are pressured constantly and many cannot cope.
Pushy parents, many want to micromanage their lives and teach them that they are special and their feelings are very delicate.
I could go on all night but you get the drift.
Sisu still in charge way back then too I take it and City still losing.Looking back I suffered from it a bit, particularly when was 9 or 10. I would write lists of problems I had to deal with, which probably wasn't healthy at that age.
Is your name Mr Robinson? If so, did you remember to look down? It might have been the diminutive Mister Man 'Mr Small' (he lives at the bottom of your garden)I got rat a tat gingered the other day, there is hope for our youth after all. (Obviously I checked all other doors and windows to make sure it was not a distraction burglary)

I would like to be in my teens again, if I could know what I know now. I would do so many things differently.I said to a mate of mine who's in his sixties "would you like to be in your teens again ? " Without hesitation he replied : " No way, and go through all that crap again. "
<snip>
Yeah, my mum kind of touched on that the other day. There are 4 of us (me and 3 sisters) and she said there is no way she would be bringing 4 kids into the world today. Sad, but I can understand the reasoning.I said to a mate of mine who's in his sixties "would you like to be in your teens again ? He explained that our age is best as we've been there and done that etc. I understand what he means as now you've got nowt to prove, but when you're young you try to impress others, but now who gives a toss !
My sister only said a week ago that she worries non stop over her 4 grandkids. She says the world now is a scary place etc,full of porn,drugs,trolls,and violence. And she worries what will happen to them ? I understand her anxiety. Your mum probably thinks the same !Yeah, my mum kind of touched on that the other day. There are 4 of us (me and 3 sisters) and she said there is no way she would be bringing 4 kids into the world today. Sad, but I can understand the reasoning.
On another note, do you remember in the winters when it was just wind and rain? Now everytime a twig falls off a branch of a tree they decide to name it storm Brian!:emoji_smile:
Heard the other day that a young neice of mine who's only 12 years old has been diagnosed by her doctor she's suffering with stress.
My missus has said the same thing. If she knew back then how the world was going to be now she wouldn't have wanted our child.Yeah, my mum kind of touched on that the other day. There are 4 of us (me and 3 sisters) and she said there is no way she would be bringing 4 kids into the world today. Sad, but I can understand the reasoning.
