That if we come back to win this surely noone left on SBT who doubts we can clinch auto promotion?

Dont get me wrong im not saying its a give , in fact it will be very tpugj but from day 1 i felt we could do it. So I'm not talking about people who think we can do it but more chance of top 6. I'm Talking About Those Who were predicting top 12 and thrn us missing out on playoffs

This is not a troll thread. But it's easy to say we r shit when we lose or give up last min goal.but after a win let's see who is man enough to state they thibk we can't make top 2. More respect if the moaners who talk about form and call others deluded for believing st least come out and say it now.

stay off the juice mate . Even the bookies think we are good odds for automatic, and they don't often get it wrong either so I think you could be on to something!

in all seriousness Gillingham at home will tell us everything we need to know one way or another...not been this excited for a game since Gillingham last year lol

That makes you a man? Of course we can make the top 2 but the top 10 teams probably also think they can make the top two. However, only two teams can make the top 2 so the odds are against it. A lot depends on whether we can keep Armstrong, Kent and Murphy and whether the rest of the team can stay injury and suspension free. It also depends on what the other teams do, which we have no control over. If Wigan surge forward and win every game till the end of the season, that leaves only one spot open.

Whats this apparent love in with Wigan ? They're nothing special they are 8 unbeaten admittedly but hey ho so are we. Some suicidal on here last week because of a1-2 reverse v Northampton but they got stuffed 4-0 v Bury. We are almost in the driving seat and i think will take some shifting, hopefully a couple of decent players to come in, Maddison to come back and Joe Cole to feature regularly once fully fit. I think Adam Armstrong will stay for the season too, not so sure about Ryan Kent, depends on their new managers policy re loanees. Certian TM will know the score on that one, he is by far the most clued up manager we have had for years.

I have finally caved in to the thought that automatic may be possible .
I was trying to stay grounded but losing 3 games from your first 17 is no fluke , it simply means you are a good side ..
When we went 1 down i said to my old man that i couldnt believe how easy that was for them to score and i feared without our better striker we would not be able to get the 2 -3 goals to win the match especially with a leaky defence .
Well i was wrong and was so impressed by the way we went about our business yesterday ..we look like a side who is going to challenge

Yes if we are to go up automatic , it will be 2nd in my opinion ..
Wigan have a stronger all round squad than us ..its a big deal at this level and i think that they will maintain the form enough to finish top

We are 17 points better off than after 17 games last season .
We are 2 points off what bristol city had after 17 games and 2 points better off than preston after 17 last season ..things are going really really well

At the start of the season I would have been happy for a finish in the top half. Still would be.
It's only 1/2 way through November and who know what's round the corner with injuries/loans etc.
Somebody yesterday said they weren't sure where the goals were going to come from, before we bang 3 in!

So happy with the progress this season. Failure to be promoted won't change that.

Out of curiosity, if the season ended now and we were promoted, how do you think we would fair?
I'd take another season in this league if it meant we went up stronger.

Worrying about our ability to come back from a goal down - or even two - is a symptom of supporting CCFC in recent years. But with the appointment of TM and his choice of coaches and advisers, I sense that at long last we have the real deal, a thoroughly professional backroom team that is amongst the best in this division and possibly the Championship as well. From public comments such as 'the next three points', to planning and preparation, recruiting a new CB, the management of Joe Cole, Armstrong's loan period, adapting Fortune's game and tying down our better players on new contracts, plus probably many more we don't know about, I'm sure TM not only has a Plan B but a Plan Z as well.

Contrast our expectations now with those of only 20 league games ago, from the possibility of relegation to promotion contenders the turnaround is remarkable. We can't directly influence the likes of Wigan, Gillingham, Sheffield United et al, other than trying our best to take 3 points when we play them.

To quote Otis and others - in TM we trust.

Much of the difference has to be knowledge of the squad and depth and the ability to bring on someone strong and key to change the game - Go Mowbray !!

Need to get someone big in at the back otherwise teams are just going to keep putting balls in knowing that our % chance of conceding is very high. Might have a chance then.
Mowbrays on the case by the sound of it.
