Well I’ve been following us for 45 years and can’t ever remember being top this far into the season. Pity there aren’t more people turning up to see it. Where were all the 3,000 friends of season ticket holders who could get to the FA Cup game but couldn’t make it today?

I've checked this and we were indeed top of the old Division 2 on 1st March 1967.
We played West Ham in a friendly on Friday 3rd March 1967 and the programme has a league table in it. We had 43 points from 31 games while Wolves had 39 from 30. Blackburn were 3rd on 37, Huddersfield 4th on 36.
