I like how the headline is:

    Then in the content:

On the topic of the letters, Would be interesting to see the letter and reply letter to make proper judgement, rather than just the instant "you must be angry" that is tried from the telegraph.

Can't get angry really at her not wanting to meet the Trust can we?

Isn't it common practice to ask to be able to sit down and talk about a "Buy out"... If the boot were on the other foot, wouldn't SISU be yelling because they were refused talks?

I agree, can't really make much of a judgement without seeing the letters though.

While there is a media attack on her the trust are all over, you can kind of see why she might not want to.

The best idea would be to put it from "Mr made up shiekh from Iran" rather than "the blokes shouting about you every minute of the day".

How would a fan run club work!?

SBT & Twitter polls to make decisions!?

Who funds it etc as we hear the club need 12,000 a week or whatever to break even etc.

Genuine naivety on my part but just interested.

The reply from SISU was "Short Shrift" in saying CCFC is not for sale.... What have SISU got to hide? what would be said if at the meeting they were offered for arguments sake, £30m. would it still be "Not for sale" Why do they want to hold onto CCFC? There's no logical answer to their "Not for sale" unless CCFC are worth more to them. Something doesn't ring true. What do you guys think?

Of course she won't meet the trust it has City supporters on it.
In her job I'm sure she meets people every day who don't like or agree with her.

I used to go to all the richest Prem sides sell like Isaac Osbourne to Chelsea for £60mil & a 33 year old Marcus Hall to United for £45million and bank roll my way through the championship at the time.

    It'll be something similar right!?

JS can let the fans run the club without selling it. Give the SBT a lead role running the club as a self sufficient entity (which they would have to do if it was fan owned).

To be honest, the only way anyone owner listen to an offer is if someone slaps a cheque (metaphorically) on the table. They would never be entertaining exploratory discussions with a fan group that has no actual cash. The fan consortium only got Portsmouth through an administration process.

Why is that then? Because they reported something for the public to read? Or is it they actually specify that "No Monetary bid had been made" which as far as we all can see is the truth. Wtf is your problem with that?

Tense negotiations are ongoing for a new player. 'Hang on a minute. Baz from Holbrooks doesn't think we should sign a new striker. Pete in Tile hill agrees with him so we'll go for a midfielder instead'.
Just think about it for a minute. It would need one person to take charge and oversee it. Could you imagine the shitfest they'd get because someone had put their £50 in and wanted their say on something?

I would like to know more. What was the content of the letters. Would like openness from SISU as to what their medium and long term plans especially if not for sale actually means not for sale.

Isn't that why we have things like Committees, MP's and Boards. To make those decisions. We vote who we want to govern don't we?

Didn't Ebbsfleet do something where he you paid £50 & you ran the club & on a Friday night you got to vote for tactics or something (Liam Daish maybe have been manager) was a farce and I'm sure they went down from the conference that first season?

Fan ownership is the way forward, but we need to make sure it is done in a professional way to ensure the structures in place mean we have the right people with the relevant skills and expertise making decisions.

Fan ownership can come in different forms, I don't think 100% fan ownership in the long run is right but we would look to maintain some stake in the club to make sure we always have some level of influence from the inside. Initially we may want 100% ownership, but then look to get investors in to provide resources and skills to help the club develop. But we would always maintain a certain stake in the club to ensure fans are always represented.

To make this work The Trust need to make sure the fan group is structured appropriately and if they have been seeking advice from organisations that have done this for other clubs successfully, then this is a positive. We need to make sure we have professional individuals with the right skills, knowledge and experience are either running the club or representing the fans group on the board.

Fan ownership is not about fans running the club, but having a say on the people that do run the club.

Just to confirm, at the start my sarcasm was about the Telegraph rather than the Trust.

Giving them a viable way out is the only way they would go, if they won't go when there is an actual way out then it just shows things like NOPM are futile.

I can't see it working because it will just be taken by SISU as some sort of thing with the Trust working with other parties like the Telegraph. If the first instinct is to go to the telegraph who are running a campaign against SISU as hard as they can, along with the trust then when they receive the letter how are they going to take it? It will be seen as some sort of fishing exercise surely? Running straight to the telegraph with everything won't help the situation and surely the Trust know that if they were serious about the takeover stuff?

We have seen it before with Haskell and the Trust were working with the council, of course she isn't going to invite the trust in and pour her heart out to them as there are clearly massive trust issues. Especially after "Supporters Direct" were working with the Council's PR company and planning to send people to her door.

If there is an actual plan for a fans takeover (even though the letter said it wasn't) then why not share it with the fans and get it out there, rather than the "trust us, wink wink" type stuff that is bound to get the replies about Football Manager and things like that. If there was a serious, thought out plan (which there could be) then people would get behind it if they thought it would work, of course I would want a lifelong city fan running the club but I would still like to know what the plan would be.

I am a lifelong city fan, but being totally honest I would have no idea at all how to run a football club and I don't think many of the people on here would either. It is all well and good in theory but as we have seen, the moment we couldn't give the manager a huge budget because we weren't earning enough revenue then people would be kicking off. Fans would have to run it as break even, the same as SISU are trying to do so the only difference I can see would be communication and the PR side.

I'd be more than happy to do a PR / Marketing role though, I have no qualifications or commercial experience but I have much better ideas than what comes out at the minute. Even if I had to spend a day myself dressed as Sky Blue Sam :)
