Why do you now need an economics degree to follow CCFC and have an opinion on whats going on these days ..

I remember when the pub chat use to be about how Chris Marsden was one of the most exciting midfeilders for years at Highfield Rd and we had to sign him on a perm basis as he got the best out of wegerle, was Ally Pickering the worst right back of all time, or was a good attacking wing back, but couldnt defend etc etc

Now a days, its all "holding companies, directors moving and amount of money it costs to even entertain buying the stadium"

I have heard the saying "Football is now a business" but this is madness.

Watched Man City v Chelsea last night and ENJOYED IT, cant remember the last time I said that about cov !.

I love away games, but its at the stage now where if I my seat at the match wasnt facing the pitch, I wouldnt be too bothered, I'm only going for the day out now. It used to be "the thing about away games is even if you lose, its a great day out", now its "a great day out, what was the score ?"

MERRY XMAS !

Ha! Yes, that is so true. The Marsden thing was a right fiasco, wasn't it? We dithered and Wolves nipped in.

Away matches were always the best even if we ended up staying in the pub and never got to the game it was always a great crack and the result really did not matter as much, if we did get to the game at least it was always a competative match and no-one really bothered about what was happeining behind the scenes as you only cared about what happened on the pitch and if you could make it back to the car safely and if it was still there and in one piece as we used to park about a mile from the ground it was an added bonus.
Those were the days when the football mattered not what was happening off it.

yer, pretty sure most Man City and Chelsea fans were in the pub before the game talking about Abramovic or the Man City owners...Na, they would have been talking about Silva v Terry, if the real Drogba would turn up, would Sturridge do it in a big game etc etc

As opposed to our last match which envoked more time on the football league programme about our chairman than our match !

I liked the other Paul Williams too, the left-back. I think the limited players have more appeal for some reason. Man, I picked the perfect team to support...
