Same thing that’s happened to a few others. Club has imploded and they’re regretting not leaving in the summer.

You're right he hasn't been as good as perhaps people first thought. Hence why he is still playing for us.

We sell all our talent and still expect to be as competitive, it don't work like that.

If people think Thomas, Joel, Sheaf, Eccles and Torp as your centre backs / centre mids then they need to give their head a wobble.

In fairness, there isn’t synergy with the CMs and AMs, I don’t think Rudoni compliments them that well. That’s not his fault, it’s just there’s a need of a different profile of player in the team. With Hamer, he would either a) send the ball up the field from our own half or b) dribble the ball a good 20-30 yards up the pitch and we just don’t do that anymore. Between Torp, Eccles, Sheaf and Rudoni what are their touches in the box? I don’t have the numbers right now, but I’d guess quite low. Hamer in 22/23 was in the top percentile of CMs with chances created and touches in the box.

Look at our team today, only Rudoni and Sakamoto tried to take players on and they weren’t that successful at it to be honest. Wright and EMC can take players on ride challenges - we miss both badly.

Call it synergy or whatever else for me its simple defensively Thomas and Joel are lesgue 1 and Torp and Eccles offer absolutely nothing.

We lost the ball 70 yards from our own goal and it ended up in the back of the net, this is simple centre backs are not at the level required.

Torp and Eccles are the chuckle brothers, to me to you, side pass here and a side pass there, off nothing, and it's because they aren't good enough. Sheaf was that guy, mop up the ball/ win the ball back play a 6 yard pass to Hamer who was top quality and we then started from there.

Now we have 3 players doing the same shit and its because they simply haven't got the ability.

The table don't lie.

He just isn't a very good footballer.
Slow, lacks aggression, rarely looks more than 20 yds ahead, poor at finding a positive pass.

I want the team to do well, at the moment we aren't. I would much rather get proved wrong (yes, yes I know that isn't how it works on SBT).

I've stuck to my guns on Sheaf for a long time (and got a lot of shit for it) but I genuinely don't think he's playing much worse than he normally does. The results and way the rest of the team are performing is causing a deeper level of investigation and I would even go as far as saying some people are now even overreacting to each mistake he makes.

He's a good Championship midfielder, but has some massive flaws which made some of the comments about him last season feel utterly ridiculous to me. Particularly regarding his value, and also effect on the team. He isn't captain material, can't shoot, has a hindrance level of vision, and very rarely pulls off anything useful towards attacking moves. He has looked better just sitting back more, and you can usually rely on him to make a strong challenge when needed, but sometimes he switches off and then when he does go forward you can expect nothing really to come of it. Usually it is just a safe pass that slows our attack down.

I know we have just spent a lot of money on players from the kitty built up from selling others, but he is one of a few I think we really need to get rid of sooner rather than later, and bring in some better players who can have more of a positive impact.

Thing with sheaf is to pass the ball forward more ten yards is behind is a ability .today prime example played the ball sideways today a nother player encourage a player to utilise the ball in the box when he was in a better position in the first place ?

The goal today wasn’t Thomas and Lati’s fault, Cardiff had more players in the box than us and their spare man headed it across goal for Robinson.

There is a lack of quality in midfield, Robins mentioned it many times towards the end of last season. Defensively, we’ve been pretty weak since Feb this year with a mistake in us.

This is probably a coincidence, but I’m convinced McFadz leaving was a disaster for Thomas and Kitching, they looked league leading between the Dec-Jan run in and dropped off as McFadz left.

Don't know how you can exonerate Thomas of any culpability for their goal?
He should havecheld the man up rather than swing out a leg and let the man skip round him, really poor.

The main culprit was Eccles mind but we still should have prevented the goal even after his error.

The cross was failed to be blocked by Bobby Thomas mate he misjudged it.

Go and have a look back mate all season. JOEL, BINKS, BOBBY constantly at fault its no coincidence.

If it’s personal then he should request time off.

If it’s anything else then he needs to be sold.

Eccles definitely at fault for the first goal but having watched the replay, Thomas should’ve done better.

Lati at CB is bemusing, what was he doing for the 1 v 1 they missed in the second half?

It didn't help that Sheaf was gazing in to the net facing away from the goal scorer. Mesmerised for some reason.

….error(S), as afterwards he jogged back and stood in no man’s land in the box instead of either pressuring the ball or picking up a free man

he has little to no awareness, probably why he gave the ball away in the first place

still shouldn’t have been that easy to score though

Lati and Binks’ clean sheet record speaks for itself and not in a good way.

Thomas, however, makes far less mistake generally and with todays goal, could’ve done better but he’s had to scramble to get back to their player because we’ve misplaced a pass with our fullbacks high up.

His passing is a problem at times and makes you think his position will become untenable in the future if we need CBs to be ball playing.

For me Binks, Kitch and Joel are about as good as Oxford, that's the best level in my opinion they are at in this division.

Bobby Thomas is a tough 1, I don't rate him at all either but I would suggest he is Bristol City level at the very best.

I would put Torp and Eccles in the same category as Bobby.

Collins and Dasilva are clear as day lesgue 1.

If we are to get out of this division or as much as compete to get out this division, we need new centre backs and 1 top centre midfielder.

It's very simple. We are shit in defence and our midfielders are also not very good.

He's an extremely good footballer who's out of form in a shit team.

he's probably pissed off that Gyokeres, Hamer and O'hare have gone, and the money gained pissed away on the likes of Kitching, Simms and BTA etc.

I'm sure he knows we havn't a hope of a top 6 finish with this "deck" and he probably knows who he'll be playing for next season.

Hence his lack of motivation and drive.
If we can cash in this month and reinvest, it might not be a bad idea.

Thomas should have stood their player up and took him into the corner! Not fling his leg and totally miss any connection with the ball which left him no chance to recover

I really don't know what's happened to Sheaf.
I've always had my doubts but my family, who know more about football ( technically) than me , have always said he's one of the best players in the Championship.
He most certainly isn't at the moment
I hate to blame individual players but seems to me he doesn't want to be at Cov anymore.
Maybe he wants a move back to London.
Sure those genuinely ITK will same some idea. ?

I'm sure half of it is the instructions, some of the passes he's making looks like he's being told to be conservative. He was at his best last season when Robins gave him a bit more of a license to get forward and drive with the ball.

That said we should move him on, if only to remove the latest scapegoat for every poor team performance.

I think moving Ben on is the wrong move , he should remove his captaincy and tell him to focus on his game
