Anyone shed any light on the reason why this Ian Dury and the Blockheads song is listed as having explicit lyrics?

I want to include it on a playlist, but that playlist has to be clean. I can't see anything untoward at all. "Widebrows" isn't derogatory is it? Love the song and now wonder if I can use it.

Clevor Trevor

Just cos I ain't never 'ad, no, nothing worth having
Never ever, never ever
You ain't got no call not to think I wouldn't fall
Into thinking that I ain't too clever
And it ain't not having one thing nor another
Either, neither is it anything, whatever
And it's not not knowing that their ain't nothing showing
And I answer to the name of Trever, however

Just cos I ain't never said, no, nothing worth saying
Never ever, never never, ever
Things 'ave got read into what I never said, 'till me mouth becomes me 'ead
Which ain't not all that clever
And it's not not saying one thing nor not another
Neither, either is it anything I haven't said, whatever
And it ain't not proving that me mind ain't moving
And I answer to the name of Trever, however

Knock me down with a feather
Clever Trevor
Widebrows wonder whether Clever Trevor's clever
Either have they got
Nor neither haven't not
Got no right to make a clot
Out of Trevor

Why should I feel bad about something I ain't 'ad
Such stupidness is mad cos nothing underfoot
Comes to nothing less to add to a load of old toot
And I ain't half not half glad cos there's nowhere to put it
Even if I 'ad I'm a bit of a Jack the Lad

Knock me down with a feather
Clever Trevor
Widebrows wonder whether Clever Trevor's clever
Either have they got
Nor neither haven't not
Got no right to make a clot
Our of Trevor

"Also, it takes much longer to get up north, the slow way."

Anyone help?

Got me there, Otis. Not even a case of "uses language that was acceptable at the time" kind if thing.

Knock me down with a feather - distressing and violent imagery

Yeah, mad isn't it. Always loved the song and thought I would give it a dust down, but on compiling a playlist, this came up as explicit lyrics.

Trevor?
What platform are you using that it's censoring your songs?

It just comes up on Spotify or Amazon Music with an E.

Always took that as being explicit, but maybe in this case, it means Excellent.

I am downloading from Bandcamp.

Listening in Amazon Music predominantly, but then downloading from Bandcamp.

It's for a radio show and it's with the remit that it simply cannot have any explicit lyrics contained within the song in question.

Apart from the obvious meaning of the lyrics I can't see why it's deemed explicit?.
I'm lucky enough to have seen Ian & the blockheads live , amazing and very talented band live.

I have just looked on Spotify and the whole album is marked as Explicit. Wonder if it's just been done at Album Level?

Back in the days of Tipper Gore, where she insisted band albums were labelled if they had explicit material, some bands and record labels insisted on labelling as explicit even if there was nothing remotely obscene within it, as it was seen as cool and anti establishment to do so.

Same on Apple Music. I wonder if it’s just a labelled issue on whatever they use as a source for lyrics.

Every track on the album is listed as explicit.

I think that's it right there, that they have just labelled every song as explicit. I'm 99.9% certain that Sweet Gene Vincent is clean too.

In the right song, there's a cracking innuendo in the line it takes much longer to get up north, the slow way.

Been revisiting the work of Ian Dury a lot lately. What a lyricist. As the OP shows.

The film about Ian Dury is well worth watching if it's available on any platforms "Sex & Drugs& Rock & Roll"
Andy Serkis plays Ian and he nailed it.
