What's changed? (1 Viewer)

We know we are a terrible side at the mo, but what has changed over the last few weeks? So much panic.

The managerial appointment is seriously dragging out, but hopefully next week will finally be resolved.

Until then we have a caretaker in charge. We are no worse than against Crewe, in fact it sounded like we played a lot better today. Yes it is absolutely gut wrenching and sickening but the over reaction of the fans is embarrassing. Some of the crap some of you are coming out with is just nonsense.

We've still got Shrewsbury to get through, and highly likely we will lose that because nothing will have changed then either. Yet still the outrage will continue.

If no-one was doing anything about it I'd be joining in, but for god's sake they are appointing someone new. They have acted, ok a little late for some but that's their opinions.

Ince or Brown are not my choices, but at least then we can draw a line in the sand and hopefully get behind them. Some of you seem to think the players are useless, I'd like to see them eat their words if a new boss turns it around. I personally think this squad can make playoffs from here.

Well the thing that is starting to concern me is the fact we are starting to get left behind.

If at the start of the season you said we wanted around 85 points for at least a decent play off place, which would have been around 1.8 points per game, which I thought this team were capable of. What we need now is around 2.2 points per game, which is title winning level.

Last season we got 5 points out of our first 6 games, today we have 3.

Yes that is an issue, but if the new guy gets us flying it is recoverable.

Momentum is massive in football. We need this new guy to start us off getting some.

momentum is essential but it is a big ask to think that a new manager can create that day 1. He may get lucky and do that but it is unlikely. I think at the back of every supporters mind is the fact that we need to get out of this league this season or the club is very seriously at risk....... right now the performances are no where near good enough to do that. Others expected to walk over teams we have previously looked down on and so far it just hasn't looked likely. There is a lot of frustration building, matched by an equal amount of disillusionment, we are rudderless and leaderless on so many levels it is ridiculous. Patience is wearing very thin and the club is in free fall still from last season and it gets worse by the week despite the fine words on Thursday

But the leader is coming OSB.

Of course we don't know if he's any good, but he is at least coming.... Eventually.

We have played some teams off the park for PARTS of games. In all games really apart from Crewe. It's not good enough as we need 90 minutes, but it at least shows they can do it.

It's that age old thing of nothing ever going your way when the chips are down.

Totally agreed and perfectly sums up how I feel. This my lowest ewb as a city fans, and I've had a few of those

Si, I don't agree that there has been hysteria etc - if anything the response to the performances/results v Crewe, Burton, Stevenage and Tranmere have been very muted, as if to say "well, we'll have a new manager soon anyway" - even with Shaw as caretaker, the current set of results is shocking and makes me think we could be in trouble....

Numb and apathetic is how I feel, panic would at least mean some excitement.

At h/t v Bury, I said to my mate "well, 2-0 up at half time and it could be 4 or 5: surely even we can't throw this away, can we?".

And then a few seconds after I said, "actually, we probably will: we are Coventry City, after all".

When it happened, I couldn't even bring myself to get angry.

It was the exact same feeling with the Stevenage game when we took the lead. I wonder if the players feel the same?

good teams work harder for 90 minutes than the bad teams, they get the knock backs and over come........... that changes luck in their favour....... just dont see that in our squad no matter who the manager is. And i dont really see a leader on the pitch from the present squad (and you need more than one).

One man to make the difference ??? ...... hope he does ........... but.........

We've got a losing mentality amongst the players. Certainly we're the better team today but lacked that killer instinct going forward. Game was crying out for McDonald but maybe SISU dont wanna pay the 'appearance' fee

Si, Thorn was sacked 3 weeks ago now. It has taken the 'selection panel' this long to get round to deciding a shortlist of a shortlist whilst the team stumbles from one defeat to another under a rookie caretaker who shouldn't have to shoulder the blame for this rubbish. They are dawdling and now is the time for decisiveness and firm leadership which is just not being shown.

I'm clinging on to Fleck stepping up for that role.
