Just please don't play Milner, he's always giving the ball away.

Milner's distribution tonight was garbage. I'm not sure why he got game time tonight, we all know what he's capable of and what he's not.

Even if he plays every minute of Arsenals final 8 games, which he wont, he shouldnt be in the starting line up.

That line up would get murdered, far to inexperienced midfield. Plus Wilshire shouldn’t be in any England squad till he has managed to play minimum 30 games in one season.

What we really need is a Gascoigne, a Le Tissier and a Colleymore. We just don't have anyone like that today but I have a little hope regarding Kane.

Keepers:
Hart, Forster, Heaton

Defenders:
Clyne, Stones, Cahill, Smalling, Jag, Bertrand, Rose

Midfield:
Alli, Barkley, Henderson, Dier, Lallana, Milner, Sterling

Strikers:
Sturridge, Vardy, Welbeck, Kane and Rooney

Would be tempted to drop Jagielka for Wilshere if fit, as dier can cover in defence if need be.
Would want to avoid any Everton player in our defence bar Stones, who i think is vital at international level as you need a player who can bring it out from the back

My updated squad after the two games.
Starting XI:
Hart/Forster

Clyne/Walker Smalling Cahill(C) Bertrand/Rose
Barkley Alli Dier
Vardy Kane Welbeck

Subs:
Heaton
Stones

Henderson, Milner, Albrighton, Drinkwater, Carrick
Defoe, Rooney

Still no place for Lallana, Sturridge or Sterling. Booted Theo and Jones out.

Unless there are some late injuries I think that will be close to the squad.
Maybe Delph would be included rather than Dier if he recovers from injury (boo hiss).
There is still one more place, probably go to Walcott, otherwise it lacks pace on the wing.

I definitely would avoid Wilshere, he is made of glass.

no chance of delph going, I think dier is certain to go now and Imo he should start.

walcott won't be going if those 5 forwards are fit. It will be ox if anyone, or perhaps Kyle walker as a spare RB

i would line up as
Hart
clyne- smalling- stones- Rose
-------dier --Henderson
lallana/Barkley--Alli---welbeck
--------Kane-------

However can see Rooney starting as the 10, and I would use sturridge if he can find form and fitness going into final run in for Liverpool.

Did I here correctly that Wilshire is back in training? For me he would have to play and excel in 6 of their remaining 8 league games to be even considered, my guts is if he plays 3-4 Roy will take him undercooked, same as Rooney. Big mistake in my eyes

On current players mine would be:
Forster GK even ahead of Hart
Clyne
Rose
Terry Bit of experience for the defence and his last competition.Still the best centre back in the premier league.
Smalling
Dier
Barkley
Henderson
Ali
Kane
Vardi
I think we can win it if that team stays together!!

No matter what GK we pick, there will be at least one major foul-up in every major tournament. I just don't think we have enough really good players to progress far in any tournament. We have only 2-3 world-class players. Should get out of the group and maybe win one more game.

taking the piss surely? Terry has been woeful all season, and is way past his best. Nowhere near the best CB in the league.
Forster has made more errors leading to goals this season than Hart has this season also in less games.

Had a look at Diers back story and I tend to agree. I think Ox is injured, debatable that will be fully ready in time & Walcott is scoring again, difficult choice in my opinion, personally I'd forget the recovering players & stick with those that are putting in decent consistent performances. Besides, there are always a few injuries near the seasons end, the squad will not be the one you'd take today, someone will be disappointed (as happened to Ox in the WC 2 years ago).

What happened to Tom Huddlestone, he used to be such a great prospect?

Anyone who isn't fully fit should stay at home. We seem to make the same mistake at every tournament taking half fit players in the hope they will magically recover by the time the knock outs start.

Walcott won't take a midfield spot imo, I think it will be Ox, i agree it should be on form and fitness, but Roy will almost certainly take his favourites if fit. E.g. why Welbeck will go no matter what

Am I the only one that thinks Ross Barkley is wildly overrated? Lallana over him all day everyday on current form.

Lallana over Barkley?? Sorry but no. Barkley has a touch of class about him. Can take a man on and beat him. Every time he gets the ball it seems something may happen. Lallana is decent but not on Barkley's level.

I've never seen Barkley get a shot on target yet. Always hits the post or 'just misses'. I'm sure it has happened but never when I've watched him. Lallana seems more intelligent but neither of them are anywhere near world-class. Apart from one or two players here and there, English football is at a very low ebb.

Been injured all season, part of a very leaky Everton backline and he hasnt ever nailed down the spot, didn't have a great world cup although nor did anybody

He's scored 12 according to BBC and he's scored 8 in league in 2600 mins
So an average of a goal every 4 matches
So that's not bad, but he doesn't really impact the big games if you watch him play, very good against lower class teams but yet to really shine against big teams
Lallana isn't much better, but has been in better form of late.
In form Barkley ATM lallana

Yes, sorry 12 for Everton, 2 for England. Would have Barkley over Lallana every time.

Not saying Lallana is world class or anything. But on form he's performing far better than Barkley.

I've seen no real improvement in Barkley since he first came into the Everton side if I'm being honest. Still very raw.
