With relegation down to League Two and with many fans not renewing season tickets,it got me thinking without football on a Saturday what could replace it ? I'd be lost but many have found other things to do.
So my question is: what would you do instead ?

Been thinking of doing that myself. They've finished their season strong and tipped to do well next campaign. My uncle took me to Coundon Road when I was a kid, they had a great side back then and I enjoyed it.

I don't want to piss on your chips, but I am not so sure I am available every weekend.

By the sounds of it though I have the feeling you might like having your chips peed on.

To be quite honest my commitment to following city home and away has gradually been waning for years. What really sealed it was going back several years when I was heavily into Muay Thai kickboxing, and really started to fall out of love with football, when I saw the fantastic effort people put into other sports for very little reward. It is this rather than specific events at our club which have pushed me away from football to an extent.

Then two years ago I got heavily into fell-running. The heaviest concentration of races are between May and September, but I'm still racing on average every three weeks during the other months, which usually entails a weekend away, unless the race is drive able (I.e Shropshire, mid Wales or the Peak District). Again, the standards of fitness and dedication I see, for little or no reward, really makes a mockery of football.

Having said that, I've also been an avid follower of Italian football for years and have actually attended more Italian games than city games this season. Still get the goosebumps going to football over there. Go to places like Atalanta, Verona, Bologna, and it's obvious to see that things haven't really changed since the 80's and 90's.

What I always do. Catch up with emails, tidy the house and garden, work on the car, home repairs, cooking, vacuuming, dusting, shopping.

Go to work and go to some random games elsewhere. Should've finished my 92 in a couple of weeks so will have the Conference and lower to complete. Will probably pop into watch Cov sometimes too.

An elderly couple on my round want me to be their gardener as he can't garden anymore. Lots to do front and back. Could do a few hours on a Saturday to break the weekend up ? See how I feel come August !
