He’s 6-1 to be the next Bournemouth manager. I don’t suspect this will happen, but we have to get used to this happening a lot. What will make him leave? A champions league club?

Another crack at the Chelsea job would be the obvious one. Beyond that, yeah, I think basically any established PL club would seek him out once we're promoted.

I cant see them going for him, or the other way round again.

I think he'll stay here for next season regardless of any other realistic offer.

I'm not convinced it's likely, but it feels like the most obvious one that would tempt him away if it did happen

We're not getting promoted to the Prem and immediately losing our manager to fucking Bournemouth.

He would potentially shoot himself in the foot and undo his reputation if he bailed on us considering he got us promotion. Lampard and Cov are currently good for each other.

He won’t have the same pressure with expectations next season as an established PL would.

I’ve got a feeling a new contract will be incoming from Doug.

I'm not convinced he has any massive loyalty to us, why would he? He's enjoying success at the moment but if a stable PL club, let alone one of the bigger clubs, come in he will give it a lot of thought.

We all know that if we're in a Wolves type position by October people will be calling for his head.

I think he'll have at least another season with us, but then who knows.
Wouldn't be surprised if he'd want another crack at the Chelsea job at some point, or as others have said, potentially England if he remains successful.

I hope we're patient and stick with him next year even if we have a rough patch though.
He's done an immense job since joining.

Could see him going at the end of next season regardless of the result - he may well be offered a mid table ish prem job at that point.

Yes, I can’t see him going to Chelsea, but let’s say a Crystal Palace came in for him… His stock is high at the moment, but would sink if (as is very possible) we struggle and are relegated. He may well think that keeping an established team in the Premiership would be more likely and would suit his long term goals. It would be a big shame, I think he has a genuine affinity with the club, players and fans, but football is a tough business where self preservation/advancement often trump loyalty. i do really hope he’s here next season and achieves his aims with us.

Didn’t he sign a two and a half year contract ? If correct, 17 months have gone by. If nothing else happens he is due to leave at the end of next season anyway.

His stock will sink more if he joins an established PL side & they struggle, there is no real expectation on us next season

Some real family ties to Bournemouth with his Uncle Harry !!
We all think as Cov Fans that of course he will stay and carry on because we think our club is the biggest and best in the world but money talks in football like any industry and if Palace or Bournemouth can double or treble his wages then he will of course consider it - who wouldn’t? There is also the argument of leave them wanting more /quit whilst you are ahead etc

Hopefully this interest makes Doug properly back him and give it a good go in the summer and gives him a reason not to leave

Yes but things are going well so please be quiet while people doom-monger about him pissing off to Bournemouth for some reason at the earliest opportunity.

Lampard said it unsolicited in an interview with the media, not in a job interview. He's got no reason to say it if it isn't true.

Let's be honest here folks. If we don't win any of our first 6 games there will be some calling for him to be sacked.
