As a kid dragged my mate and my Dad to London on the train to go to a games conference, only to find I’d got the date wrong. Luckily City were playing Arsenal at Highbury that day so we went there instead and sat in the Arsenal end. Had to keep quiet while some Arsenal fan next to me insisted on calling all the players by their first name constantly throughout the game.

Never did get to go to the games conference.

Mowbray’s first game at Barnsley.

Fucking freezing night game at Barnsley.

We were fucking terrible and the only way to keep warm was to burn my mouth on bovril.

I think I was there. We had two consecutive terrible performances at Barnsley under Mowbray, both midweek cold nights

Morecambe away in 2010. I had bought match and coach tickets for myself and a friend who said he would drive us to the Ricoh. Bloke never showed up and never answered his phone so I got a last minute train up to Morecambe.

The game itself is a horror show with McIndoe in centre midfield and a 16 year old JCH making no headway. Lose 2-0 and leave expecting I'll still have a place on the coach back. Turns out my seat was given to someone else but there's a spare seat on another. Get back to Cov and fork out £15 to get from the Ricoh to the other side of the city.

Never did hear from that bloke again either.

Someone else has already mentioned Chester away in League Cup in late 70s - my 1st time of feeling gutted. Soon to be followed in no particular order by:
Blackburn away early 80s 1-0 defeat FA Cup
West Brom 7-1
Southampton 8-2
Chelsea 6-2
Derby County Baseball GroundvFA Cup (late 90s/early 2000s?)
Walsall 3-0 at home in league cup (our manager was sacked after?)
Bristol City Easter Monday in last Championship season, knew we were down that evening
West Ham away league cup semi followed a few days later by 3-1 defeat at Spurs in FA cup
Oxford a couple of years ago - truly awful

Bobby Gould wasnt sacked after that 0-3 Walsall defeat. However, a day or so later, he convinced Cyrille to join us from West Brom. The lows and highs of being a Cov fan squeezed into a few short days.

League cup Semi final defeat to West Ham with 10 seconds left to play. As a 10 year old I cried my eyes out as Wembley drifted away.

Luton Town in October last year. Great result and great performance but then after the final whistle came the realisation that instead of travelling up the M1 to Coventry, I sadly live in the complete s***hole that is Luton

My first ever away match was at old Trafford, we had the best possible start with breen scoring an own goal within the first 4 minutes he then let Cole through for their second on 5 minutes... We finished the match 3-1 with huckerby scoring near the end for us.

Then least season we went to Barnsley away because we always win at Barnsley... Needless to say hoofroyd saw to it that we lost, dire football, mcpake off with a broken back, and they ran out of pies!! It was my lowest point as a usually optimistic city fan, the football was so poor that day I was furious with aidy and considered not bothering going to matches till he was gone. Needless to say I still went because the optimism kicked back in....

I remember that Barnsley game! I said to my mates ‘we usually beat Barnsley, this should be a good game’. It was not a good game.

Worst performance was when we lost 4-0 to Walsall under Pressley. What a joke.

Listened to that on the radio. whilst hiding in a car park, pretending to collect Tescos trollies (had a part time job there). Went to the semi-final and we asked some police where to go for a pint, and they directed us into a park where there was a 200 aside game of football taking place between Leeds fans. Quickly decided to reverse tracks !

I lived at Bury Park for a few months. "Interesting" place near the ground.

Only game seen there was a 4-2 win with Stuart Pearce playing key part in win.

Leicester away in the early to mid 80s.
The first game I can remember been moved to an earl kick off Sunday. following the on pitch fighting at HR. Lost either 5-0 or 5-1 and absolute carnage before, during and after the game.
Came home with a black eye and as much as I'd love to claim I got it standing toe to toe with a dozen knicker stitchers I actually slipped over in a pub toilet.

I can appreciate how you felt. I was 18 .
On the night City froze and did not deserve to get through. Hard to take.

Away at WBA 7-1. We were terrible. But we had been in good form and really looking to win it. Nobody saw that result coming.

Newcastle away in the late 90's on a weds night 4 days after losing at everton in the fa cup 5th round.

There were about 250 of us there compared to the 6500 at everton, and they put us in a corner where the roof had been removed to start rebuilding work on the stand. It was snowing and sleeting most of the night, we got humped 4-1 after taking the lead and had a 200 mile journey home. Aah the memories!

I was at that game. Arsenal had won there the previous week by the same 4-2 scoreline.
Not so sure about Stuart Pearce playing a big part in the win but he did score a cracking diving header own goal !
