In the summer we are the same amount of years away from euro 96, as we were in 96 from winning the world cup...

Amazing that I didn’t end up in a career in sports journalism with writing as good as “No.10 McAllister sneaked a sneaky goal home”

I imagine your careers adviser thought calligraphy was your true calling.

Late 80s for me, can't remember the exact year. We beat Norwich, I think it was 2-1 Bryan Gunn was sent off and Killer scored a pen.

Fairly sure it was Cov 5 - 4 Forest in the League Cup 90/91 season.
Very vague memory of Gallys hat trick.

I was a mascot that night. Still have a photo of me and a startled looking Brian Clough in the away dugout

88-89. Killer actually missed the pen against their makeshift goalie.

Mine was a 1-0 win v Leicester in December 1986. Sure it was with St Gregorys primary school football team!
Don't remember the game being particularly exciting but knew I wanted to go again.

Apparently I was going to games with my parents and grandparents from 1965 onwards, including an away FA Cup game at Everton in 1966. The lived in Rugby and my dad had been converted from 'the oval ball' in the early 60s, and went to games both home and away.

I took over my mum's season ticket in the 1971-72 season. We sat in line with the edge of the penalty area, the same end that Peter Osgood scored at due to an Eric McManus error in December 1971, then promptly kissed him on the forehead.
I remember a game against Sheff Utd in the snow, though I remember the smell of pipe smoke more vividly, maybe 1972.
We went to many games over the next ten years, though my memory plays tricks. I remember a Tommy English hat-trick against Leicester in a 4-1 win and was sure Mark Hateley got the 4th, apparently not.

We moved to the South coast in 1982.
I went to the Saints v Coventry games as often as I could, the 8-2 loss being the most painful, even though our two goals were the best, and against Shilton.
My last game in person was a 1991 League Cup game against Rochdale (my mate supported them). I thought it was 5-0, but the records show it as 4-0.
I've always followed the results, though went to the dark side supporting Bournemouth when I moved south, still do, sorry.
My old man is 89 now and has this season's home shirt and watches all the games he can on TV. He reminisces about Jimmy Hill frequently, a man way ahead of his time. His mind is not what it was, and his mobility is limited, so the Coventry games on TV are a godsend for him. I've just bought him the "Sky Blue Revolution: Jimmy Hill at Coventry City 1961-1967" book from Amazon, as he was threatening to write his own memoire of those times. We'd have got page one about ten times before he'd give up. A bit beyond his capabilities nowadays, but hopefully the book will capture his interest.

Eirc McManus "goalkeeper" it makes shudder every time I hear his name, made Brad Collins look like Gordon Banks.

First one I remember was the 1963 FA Cup game vs Sunderland. We were the giant killers that night.

my uncle took me up, but I have a feeling he took me to games before that, but I can’t remember them.
