Yeah we were there that night, robbed as per usual couldn't see anything wrong with the goal.

And then we had to hitch hike it back to Cov because of the Liverpool fans smashing up the coach we came up on.

That's why I despise the Liverpool fans.

0-0 with Newcastle in November 1994. I think Andy Cole missed a penalty.

August or September 1966. Home vs Bury. Won 3-0 with our scorers being Bobby Gould (2) and the great John Tudor with the other one.

Burnley at home, 8th of October 2022. 1-0 loss.

Been living over in Ireland since I was 8 and despite going back over to see family most years for the past 20 years, only been able to get to a game once.. and what a shit game it was

My first game was at Highfield Road was either in 1962 or 1963, too young to remember the game but I do remember the gaps in the Spoin Kop.
First game I do remember was in August 69 and the score was a 1-1 draw, IIRC Derby had just been promoted.

Last game of the season against Everton in 1995 i think it was. It was a 0-0 draw, but remember being on the front row by the dug outs and in awe of the speed of Ndlovu. The excitement when my dad asked if i wanted to go with him was off the scale. We still go to every game together now.

I remember that we were playing so well in that game that I wasn't worried when they equalised competely against the run of play.

That will teach me.

It's fair to say that he failed to contain the threat posed by Alan Shearer.

Failed somewhat spectacularly.

I can't remember my first game but it was early 60s. Some games in the 60's stick in my brain though, such as the game against Wolves in the promotion year and Curtis breaking his leg in I think the second game following promotion (against Forest). I remember going to Anfield and being attacked by a police horse in the mass crowd trying to get in the ground, would have been in the promotion year or the following year, we lost 1-0 IIRC.

Apparently I was going to games with my parents and grandparents from 1965 onwards, including an away FA Cup game at Everton in 1966. The lived in Rugby and my dad had been converted from 'the oval ball' in the early 60s, and went to games both home and away.

I took over my mum's season ticket in the 1971-72 season. We sat in line with the edge of the penalty area, the same end that Peter Osgood scored at due to an Eric McManus error in December 1971, then promptly kissed him on the forehead.
I remember a game against Sheff Utd in the snow, though I remember the smell of pipe smoke more vividly, maybe 1972.
We went to many games over the next ten years, though my memory plays tricks. I remember a Tommy English hat-trick against Leicester in a 4-1 win and was sure Mark Hateley got the 4th, apparently not.

We moved to the South coast in 1982.
I went to the Saints v Coventry games as often as I could, the 8-2 loss being the most painful, even though our two goals were the best, and against Shilton.
My last game in person was a 1991 League Cup game against Rochdale (my mate supported them). I thought it was 5-0, but the records show it as 4-0.
I've always followed the results, though went to the dark side supporting Bournemouth when I moved south, still do, sorry.
My old man is 89 now and has this season's home shirt and watches all the games he can on TV. He reminisces about Jimmy Hill frequently, a man way ahead of his time. His mind is not what it was, and his mobility is limited, so the Coventry games on TV are a godsend for him. I've just bought him the "Sky Blue Revolution: Jimmy Hill at Coventry City 1961-1967" book from Amazon, as he was threatening to write his own memoire of those times. We'd have got page one about ten times before he'd give up. A bit beyond his capabilities nowadays, but hopefully the book will capture his interest.

In the summer we are the same amount of years away from euro 96, as we were in 96 from winning the world cup...
