With Steve Waggott today announcing it was a great transfer window and I for one concur with that and most other sensible fans will also, what should we do with the spare cash? Options are as follows:

1. Re-invest in the current squad and offer new deals to our best players?

2. Bring in up to 5 new players?

Personally I think to combine the two and offer new deals with the extra cash to our better players i.e Wilson and Christie and then bring in 2/3 quality players instead of 5 run of the mill players? No reason as not to do this as Elliot and Mcsheffrey must of been on good wages.

P.S who is this transfer that fell through and now could be interested in a loan? (winger apparently) Any thoughts?

How was it a good transfer window? its a relief they didnt sell what is left of the family silver, but this should be a basic! Cannot believe that after so much propaganda from sisu over the years that expectations are so low they call it a success the owners didn't sell every possible player!

A good transfer window is one where the club strengthens its squad as cheaply as possible. Losing players and not replacing them cannot under any circumstances be seen as a success!

If the estimated saving on wages is anywhere near right (made by a poster on another thread and werent unrealistic) id pay the rent debt at the Ricoh, get back round the table, and agree new terms! Start from a clean slate. Pay what's owed, discuss new terms.

But I know this sounds too good to be true

I'd get in a pool table. Everybody loves a pool table.

I would give myself an increase in my "management fee"

I doubt we will sign more than 2 new players

I'd offer Christie, Wilson and Moussa new contracts then see what we have to play with after, if they sign the contracts

Is the payoff given counted as player expenditure under FFP? If so then the amount we can spend will be lower, not to mention the fact we would've been over FFP limits anyway.

I'd tie Christie, Wilson and any other kids in the first team squad with less than a year to go.

Then any remainder on a CB and if any left over on a winger.

I expect no new contracts apart from Wilson and two signings.

New contracts need to be given to Christie, Wilson, Moussa and Murphy, then we need to sign another Centre Back (Pat Kisnorbo) and a Winger (Josh Carson)

I agree. When people are suggesting values for players and how much they would take it's all irrelevant.
If we had normal owners then yes, take £1m for Christie and invest in the team, but I doubt Sisu would be doing that.

In normal circumstances I would agree with you. Were not under normal circumstances though are we. Considering the 'CCFC picture' right now, we have done really well not to sell any first team player. Dont be shortsighted.

Spare cash, I'd imagine they are just about to allow for a loss of circa £2 million on this season with a few more in Northants to come. The only reason SISU didn't sell anyone is that the offers made for our players were no doubt insulting, I'm sure negotiations are under way though and on going for anyone with a value.
