What team will be left? (1 Viewer)

Who's going to leave and who's out of contract?

The loanee's going back first, but thanks to Nimley and Norwood both gave us options and a bit of bite at the end of the season.

Clingan, Keogh, Cranie, Bell next out of the door.

Then in will come the bids:

Bigi will attract interest along with Conor Thomas

Doesn't leave a huge amount really and in essence it will require a total team rebuild as the 1st Division requires physical strength.

Bell will still be here I fear.

Keogh I am sure will be gone and there's talk of Joe Murphy leaving too. Wood may go just to free up wages.

You are right, Bigi and Connor Thomas will attract interest, but I think we may be more likely to lose Cyrus Christie and Jordan Clarke to be honest.

too many fans still think were a big club with money

many need a reality check , most of the players will not be replaced

anyone still gullible to believe thorn has realistic targets are deluded , that was a con to get season ticket sales up

face it our club is in dissary from top to bottom and the posters who say things are ok really need to look at the bigger picture

Sadly I have to agree any of the youngsters that have shown potential may well be sold.

Bigi, Thomas, Christie and Clarke all out of the door to bring in some cash.

Didn't the club already take a loan out against next season's ticket sales?

I fear we are more like Luton than Southampton and the slide ever downwards will continue as the threat of administration may very well see us starting the next campaigne with negative points.

Clarke-Harris has gone hasn't he and you missed out McPake, though I am sure he will be gone too.

Is Platt out of contract? I would say time to offload him and definately O'Donovan. Wood also we have to try and move on. Ideally Bell as well but he seems to have sewn up a deal to keep him here for ever.

Well AT has said he wants players here with a winning mentality. I find that at odds in many ways of him rating David Bell. For me, Bell has anything but a winning mentality. Players with winning mentalities usually try hard in games, give 100% at all times and fight for the cause. They certainly don't give up or disappear half way through matches.

There is. Very true.

Usually though players who have a winning mentality usually go that extra mile to be winners.

Jonson Clarke-Harris has gone as well I believe, looked a decent prospect when I watched the academy.

Keogh IMO of the games I've seen has been the only consistent player (playing alright).

The key to this is most of us seem to think with the players leaving. Thorn will need to be allowed to sign 5 to 6 replacements. These replacements will need to be if similar quality. I just hope if it happens it is not the kids again. Even if it just season long loans and free transfers. Please just let him replace what he loses with nearly as good. We already have too thin a squad and I think we will lose Murphy Keogh clingan cranie. They are our 4 senior pros and arguably our best players from last season. This is what happened last summer. Now I understand why they went last summer and why these will go this summer. But they have to be replaced with nearly as good players and a couple on top to get some depth. Especially when you ad norwood and nimley to this. They are 6 players I think most fans would agree would have been first picks. Actually as I write this I am now realising we need 8 signings! Replace the 6 out and 2 on top to try and get a normal squad size. Sisu allowing 8 signing be it loans and free transfers. What do you think?

It could be the case that this year's academy team will be next season's first team! Plus maybe one or two left overs like Deegan.

You are spot on. We need 8 players minimum. Just cannot see that happening.

Our only hope is young Premiership players such as Norwood and Nimely and that the parent club will foot all of the wage bill.

The difference is though the players coming in will be League One standard and require League One wages. If Cranie, Clingan, Keogh and especially Wood (plus Bell) went this would free up wages for 8 League One players to come in. As it stands our wage bill will be huge for League One standards if, as we are led to believe, a lot of these guys are earning £8k a week.

The quality of the players signed will once again determine the owners desire to achieve. That's if we make any considerable signings!

To get out of Division 1 we will need Championship standard players not middle of the road division 1 players.

Look at Reading and Southampton both teams have top class championship players with an occassional PL player thrown in. (they both signed extra strikers in Jan - Roberts and Sharpe respectively)

What we need is quality strikers - if we can score freely next season we will suceed, look at the teams that are promoted from the lower leagues they all have prolific striking abilities for their respective leagues. We haven't scored enough goals simple fact! Decent strikers will still command a decent wage.

Whats worrying is that the squad listed by Otis looks weak even for League 1.
Unless the transfer embargo is lifted then there will not be any signings.
If it is lifted then what players will Sisu allow Thorn to bring in?
I presume you can still sell players though even when you have a transfer embargo?

We could do with striking up a deal with say Man City, and them season loaning us 6 of their good youngsters to play for us for the season, but importantly play together also so it benefits them.

It looked ok for the home games, nice good quality pitch at the Ricoh, pass it around a bit.

Yeovil away on a blustery Wednesday night however and they will seriously struggle.
