No future with SISU said:
Their is no cheap land around coventry and getting planning permission wil take years. A lot of the land is green belt so no planning permission will be granted on that land

That being said these 4 unnamed sites must hold some hope of availability or why look at them at all?

So they have chosen sites like Brandon and Warwick university 2 off the biggest traffic hold up areas around cov.

Add 10,000 fans and the nightmare gets worse.

If (and it remains a big if) SISU do purchase land to build a Stadium on then doesn't it show there intentions to build a new ground? Then again saying that people still believe SISU want the Ricoh on the cheap even though they are employing three companies of which each carries a different aspect in the challenge in finding the right land.

Their 'ambition' is to build a stadium for 12,000 fans. So IF it is a real plan, they obviously intend to use the academy as a production line, the stadium will merely be the showroom to bring in any interested buyers.
Premier league football? No chance.

So.......

"On the Brandon sale, Andrew Moss, of Birmingham-based GVA property agents, would not comment on the nature of the “due diligence” talks, but insisted the sale was progressing."

And yet they are now considering four sites....

"A spokesman for CBRE said: “We are continuing to work closely with the club to find a suitable location, with four potential sites currently being considered, one of which we have agreed terms on, and this continues to progress well."

Oh, I get it.....I am definitely buying this car, but looking at three others instead........so it's a deal then......????

Premier League cannot be the ambition at this moment in time.

Of course it doesn't make it a deal, but if none of the less shows that there are intentions to do soemthig in this regard.

In what aspect would you ever look at purchasing and not consider other alternatives?

Robo - it's the fact that Andrew Moss says ' the sale is progressing' , which is completely different to ' considering' options.

If he had said that 'talks' are progressing, as opposed to 'the sale' is progressing, that would be different,.

Okay fair point about the Ricoh, however we are talking about complex far more than a Football Stadium, the best example would be St Mary's Stadium in Southampton which took 2 years to construct.

No admittedly your correct about your second point, however why would they spend all the money they are on companies to assist them finding suitable land for a stadium.

Tim Fisher misjudged people's emotions but people are starting to go back with every game, yes it's not within 3 games however there is a rise and I am sure that number will continue to pick up.

No it doesn't however you have to say they are at least exploring that avenue if nothing else, if you don't believe they will build a new stadium, then fine, but there are things happening that would suggest otherwise.

out of interest was the 2years it took to build st mary's from when the 1st sod of ground was lifted until the construction process was completed or was it from day 1, ie the day they started looking for a potential sight?

how much money have they spent? a substancial amount depends on your deifinition, a £100 is a substantial amount to me.

tim fisher certainly did misjudge and yes the gates have risen and i dont think nobody wasn't expecting that, but its not yet even at the numbers he claimed would be their from the start and i would be supprised if the best gate was even there by the end of the season. IMO

as far as i can see is the only things that have happened so far is timmy has said it is going to happen, the FL believe him and they have had an offer accepted on brandon (a site that is never ever going to get the change of use so can be dismissed from the off) and not followed it up. yes thay have appointed a specialist to find a site but there is no evidence that they are doing this.

I don't think sisu actually have a plan for CCFC. I think the plan was to get the Ricoh for peanuts and then sell the club and ground for mega money. They would still have owned the development land around the stadium which they could have developed or sold at huge profit to a developer.
