First 15 mins we we all over them, should have been 2-0 up and were knocking it around nicely.

Equaliser deflated us and then as soon as it went 2 & 3-1 we capitulated.

When we are good we can compete with anyone in the league but we struggle to even manage that for 20 minutes a game at the moment.

The keeper, the defence and bassette missing an easy chance once again! They got robins the sack and they will get Lampard the sack too

It’s exactly what happens when none of the players trust the goalkeeper. Panic central.

It's simple for me.

We gifted them a goal. That did all their work for them. Lifted them, lifted the home crowd. Changed the atmosphere. They grew, and we shat ourselves.

If it wasn't obvious to a blind man before today, there are some serious frailties in this squad in terms of mental resilience. Not only are some of them not up to it ability wise, they're not up to the challenge mentally.

Once again, we could help ourselves by making the most of our chances. But we never do.

Soft defence and defence goalkeeping. If Lampard does not address it, it’ll cost him his job as it did with Robins.

An experienced defender is needed in particular. Dovin should be out number 1 and we just need to trust the him and other stalwarts from last season.

We came 9th last season and we’ve improved the team, there is no excuse for not hitting that same baseline.

As many problems as we have with the defence its can't be easy playing in front of a keeper who can't stop a shot or catch a cross.

They must have zero belief that if they make a mistake Collins will bail them out.

Horrendous isn’t it.

To be fair, I had heard there was a highly contagious virus going around the club this week which will have affected the players.

No excuse for Collins though because he didn’t catch that either.

Sorry…

As a group they're mentally weak and crushed easily, hence the collapse.

The defence is the same as last season barring the new goalkeeper who we've seemingly exiled, and that's where there's the biggest problems.

If either Bassette scores the 1v1 or Collins doesn't dive straight over an easy save then I think we go on to win the game. (I'm not excusing the performance from that point on by any means).

We are shit let’s be honest. The players we have are over rated and over paid. The January window can’t come fast enough. I’m not sure DK will let FL have what he wants .

We have gone from play off contenders to relegation contenders, we already needed to add to the squad but now it looks like its a massive overhaul, still not convinced Lampard is the man to rebuild us, he hasn't got the experience of building a squad so after our successes under Robins theres more than a fair chance its back to mediocrity unless King and Lampard surprise us

He would’ve.

Wilson was Robins’ favourite. But as he’s a injured he would’ve picked Collins over Dovin

If there has to be a scapegoat I literally don't care any more if its Collins. 3 awful errors led to 3 goals. Fact.

Need to reset the mentality of the defence somehow and make them believe they are not this bad. Because they aren't. Last season proves that.

Referee overturned the momentum, then we did the rest ourselves.

Allowing an off side FK to be taken in our own half was spectacular.

The linesman seemed to be trying to justify that to Lampard, if Lampard has one thing over Robins he will give the idiot officials some stick.

Happened last season at home, think against Norwich, and when I kicked off on here got it explained to ne why it was a correct desicion.

I've no idea if that is the case or not

I remember now. The player came back from offside and touched the ball in out half so it was from where he touched the ball. Todays was definitely in their half.
Yet again another dreadful ref but that doesn’t excuse that performance in any way.

Why are people on here trying to put blame on one or two players ? Let’s be honest here , Portsmouth was 10 times better than us and good on the eye . We are utter shite. Let’s just concentrate on staying up.

yes bassette was still 10 yds in their half when he got the ball - Assistant refs are effectively redundant now - never give a decision

What are you basing this on? He hadn't at any point this season. Collins wasn't even making the bench.

Where do you think we’ve improved the team. We’re worse without O’Hare (imo) and I can’t see who has improved us, although I don’t think Rudoni is a bad signing. You could say our squad overall is stronger than in previous seasons, but our best 11 is not as good as previous seasons when we had Gyokeres, Hamer, O’Hare and McFadzean, none of whom have been adequately replaced (and I accept that‘s a tough ask). That’s the reason we are where we are.

Not rocket science today, we should have been 2 up no question, probably game changing. Once Collins decided to dive over the first shot, it was game over.Midfield melted away as Pompey worked out how soft we are. Sheaf was miles off the pace offering nothing to get us back in the midfield scrap..Once we lost control, we simply couldn't use the flanks reverting to firefighting Pompey simply out muscling and hustling the midfield, we were no match as we rolled over with players simply going missing not up for the fight.Worrying situation to be in , please do not start Collins again, Dovin simply has to play.Only positive was the brewery near the away end, superb.
